That’s why the big 10 will always be second to the SEC. They rely too much on history. The casual fan and recruits doesn’t care about what happened 50+ years ago. Yale has 18, Harvard has 8, Princeton has 15. They are blue bloods. Where are they now?

I wonder if somewhere out there, a Vanderbilt fan is dick riding Alabama on a Big Ten board. Basically the same as what we have here. No offense Vandy.

Also of interest: in 12 of the past 20 seasons, a national champion has been involved in a game with LSU.
In the last 16 years, Alabama played the national champ or was the national champ 15 times

I really do not think he understands the demographics of the south.

Teams that haven't won anything of significance in 25 years may be "historic" but hard to call them bluebloods unless that's all you mean by the term (ie, teams that were really good a long time ago). Nebraska may well lose to Northwestern Sat.

As soon as the game shifted towards proving yourself on the field, they fell off a cliff. They don't have their little newspaper boys around to prop them up and sing their praises anymore.
They're a perfect fit for the Big Ten: win a bunch of meaningless-cupcake regular season games, get overrated, and then get absolutely mud-holed in the post-season.
Completely agree.

Sure, buddy. Drive around Walker County and be a minority, see how that works out for you.

LSU has the titles but they're too inconsistent.
Winning 3 titles with the 3 different coaches in a row over the course of 16 years is inconsistent eh?

it is a southern state, same demographics as of the rest of you. Hell ole linc did all he could to have maryland fight for the north. Too important.
Louisiana had now outcome on the war besides sitting on their arse.

LSU was the first team to play football on foreign soil.
Also the first team to play a game alone apparently, that LA education is really paying dividends.
