Yep. It was the Biden administration who forced Ukraine to launch the counteroffensive before Ukraine was ready because Biden needed a political win. Per my sauce(s) in Ukraine they were saying a spring offensive to distract Russia but were really planning a late summer offensive. They were hoping to lure the Russians into false sense of security after a spring or early summer offensive didn’t happen. Unfortunately the Biden administration forced Ukraine to launch the counteroffensive when a small weak spot was found.

Eh, the Russians are sitting behind fixed defenses and are just happy to sit there and wait for the most part, delaying was not going to lull them into anything.

Russia has been throwing up defensive lines and throwing bodies at problems as long as there has been a Russia, Ukraine has to decide if it is willing to spend the massive amount of lives it will take to dislodge Russia and do it or let them keep what they have, same place we have been for 6 months.

None of that is unclear, but what you can't seem to grasp is that the initial investment had nothing to do with Ukraine, and over time, much of the material became outdated and marked for storage and/or disposal.

But for your "I don't want to send a penny over there" argument to work, you have to portray this material as cash. When at the time of appropriation, it objectively wasn't. Because if you were to accept that it wasn't cash, you would then likely have to defend why you would rather use taxpayer money to dispose or store said materials rather than have them put to use eliminating Russians.

And since you can't defend that point, you claim it is a "petty" argument.

The outdated stuff is the red herring and a small part of the total package value being sent.

I wonder why they don't sharply cut the prices? At some point just cut your losses and move on.

1) they do not want to lower the pricing floor as this will be going on again next year.

2) It is on the books as an asset and probably collateral, things can get messy when you choose to depreciate something(s) that is/are being used as a security deposit.

What was their biggest folly?

The creation of the modern state of Israel, turning it back into THE global flashpoint has done the world no favors.

The Brits had a penchant for creating and maintaining divisions they could exploit later but that one will keep blood flowing for the foreseeable future.

I just paid $16 and change for a double cheeseburger and small chocolate shake at Shake Shack.

Now, it was a pretty damn good burger. But even so, $16 is kind of crazy.

As competitive as that space is it is just the cost of doing business in 2023, being forced to treat part time employees like career associates and paying a zillion different taxes cost money and they can only get it from one place, your wallet.

5. They think America has a huge media problem with honesty….shocking I know

No Brit or anyone who has spent any time there came up with that one, their media is far worse than ours and doesn't even bother pretending otherwise.

Both U.S. and Israeli Officials have now Confirmed that Prime Minister Netanyahu has Agreed to Delay the Invasion of the Gaza Strip until the U.S. Military is able to move more assets into the Region including at least 12 Air Defense Systems, for the Interception of Cruise and Ballistic Missiles as well as Rockets and Drone, which are set to be spread across multiple Countries in the Middle East including Bahrain, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE.

Hamas goal from the beginning of this has been to draw Israel into Gaza and set the stage to light the entire region on fire and galvanize the Arab world against Israel once again.

Everybody in the region has been getting a bit chummy with Israel lately and that is an existential threat to Hamas.

While Israel is correct in responding how they so wish a pyrrhic victory is a very possible outcome.

Or they were French settlements as well but you do you and think they somehow recently changed.

Moved to Poplarville for a while and it ticked the boxes for us, close enough to anything, somewhat rural, and good schools.

As an adult I am unable to understand motives whether I agree with them or not, I discussed the motives of the Palestinians not the Barbarics of Hamas

We in the West currently have the globe carved up the way we wish, it would be foolish to consider that permanent

so all of this, which is ridiculous but lets humor it and act like its true, excuses the stunt hamas pulled a week and a half ago?

Nothing and everything at the same time, they consider themselves freedom fighters trying to rid their country of invaders.

I think it was stupid as they have about 0% chance of success and are just getting folks killed but I am able to understand their motives whether I agree with them or not.

Israelis want a Jewish homeland, Palestinians want their land back as it was not Britain's to give and the world spins round and round.

quote:

Yep. If you care about facts you already see this conflict for what it is - a civilized nation state against an illiberal culture.

If you see equal culpability or even Israel as the instigator, you’ve already ignored the last 100 years or so of reality, so what is one more incident to ignore.

100 years ago the "Israelis" were soviet citizens in Eastern Europe and the "Palestinians" who are the descendants of the Israelites were doing just fine in their homeland albeit under British occupation.

Now explain how we got from there to here in a manner that illustrates how exactly they are wrong for wanting their land back and the predominate Russian occupiers to go home and contrast that with your feelings about the struggle in Ukraine.

Why do you defend one group of Russian occupiers and attack the other?

By all means hit select targets and avoid civilians as you can.

My post was in response to bombing Gaza out of existence, two completely different animals.

That's a lot of people that had a lot of opportunity to live peacefully with their neighbors. It seems the general mentality in Gaza is they don't like that idea. I don't think it's Israel that woke up this morning and chose violence.

I don't pretend to know the deeds of a couple of million people but I do know killing them would make Israel a pariah nation and the Muslim world would destroy them eventually.

In 2023 were they to go out on that limb they would have to stand alone, forever.
