FB Links sometimes break, check David Housel

This will be something, everyone gets to see their favorite GOB network members, but I'm sure it'll be great stories. There's a grizzly in there too! I want to see his creek

Dye was the head honcho of the GOB network. He also single handedly turned the program around to get it back on track and had an impact much like Saban had at LSU which they are still benefitting from. Just like we are now.

That goes for the GOB group as well. Without their dedication to winning, giving money, and keeping up with the Jones in the arms race through the 80's-00's we would be Ole Miss.

I remember when Auburn hired Coach Dye. He was not very well known at the time and no one really knew what he might do. In his interview he was asked how long it would take for him to beat Alabama and he relied "60 minutes."

He dared to attempt to move the Iron Bowl from Legion Field.
Ray Perkins the Alabama coach at the time, " It will never happen".

It is hard to believe the outrage the state media and tide fans gave him.

Pat Dye, head coach of Auburn at the time, famously compared the event to the fall of the Berlin Wall. The absurdity of playing neutral site games at Birmingham's Legion Field—which Alabama used as a home stadium for several games per season at the time—was coming to an end,

If you are Auburn, the premiere is at the Gogue on Friday before Mercer. Go to the Gogue website and get a free ticket.

Got my tickets, Pat Dye is pretty much my hero and they don't make men like him anymore. I'm guessing a lot of the people interviewed will be at the premiere. Wonder if Bo will make an appearance?

I was a junior at the time and kept the game ticket and the Sunday morning newspaper. 10 years later my MIL threw them out while helping my wife get us ready to move.

I was at that game.

“Reverse to victory”

We had lost in 1984 and 1985.
Changed the offense in 1986.
Then won SEC in 1987,1988, and 1989
