Alabama will be challenged on this trip more than what Auburn was challenged in Israel. Other than going to see the historic religious sites in the Holy Land, why did Bruce want to schedule games in Israel?

Unfortunately there appears to be no means to stream these games.

It is not, unfortunately.

It seems odd to me that nothing (apparently at all) is available, although several media members have said they would post box scores.
A few days ago Oats stated that he wasn't ready to have his team scouted quite yet, but I don't know how much that actually played into the decision.

That's a stretch. Israel is not bad at basketball. Probably the most high profile team Alabama is playing, Spain, split with Israel last year in the Eurobasket qualifiers.

Is this a new trend? Playing other countries national teams as exhibitions? I don’t remember teams doing this before but I definitely could be wrong.

Of course I will cede that Bama is playing at least one more difficult game. Israel U20 was not a good matchup.

Arkansas plays tomorrow on FloSports. I’m surprised Alabama couldn’t get it streamed somehow.

Long and short of it I expect Bama cruise except for Spain.
Spain is seriously good.

It has been happening for a awhile now but some programs are making more of an effort to do it. I believe there are caps on how many times you can do it in so many years.

I think you're right. It used to be once out of the country every four years.
I guess it allows teams to play (somewhat) quality competition and set pre-season rosters.
It also is a pretty good bonding experience for the team.

It’s a good experience for the players.
I don’t think winning or losing these exhibitions will make or break the season.
I think most coaches will just let them play and probably not show every nuance of their sets.
Probably a good time to see how guys have developed over the spring and summer. Maybe you can find a 9th or 10th guy for the rotation.
Maybe reward the walk-ons with some PT with mostly starters.
I’m not sure why people are upset about teams going overseas as a team building experience.

The host country may have asked Coach Pearl to play them. I’m sure it is a good experience both ways- for Israeli basketball and Auburn.
