...by flight from Rutgers to LA...from Pennsylvania to LA....those non revenue teams can't take a 2500 mile bus trip.....money well spent ? I wonder if it can work out the way everyone thinks it will.

I think a lot of the Olympic sports (XC, track, swimming, gymnastics etc.) compete in a lot of invitationals and are already traveling at least regionally. I would think moving football, band, equipment etc. would still be the biggest expense.

Hear me out…the SEC and B1G will grow to 24 teams each that then divide in to 8 team regionally focused divisions. Here in the SEC we might call them the Atlantic Division, Southern Division and Southwest Division. The B1G might call them the PAC-8, Big 8 and Intercollegiate Divisions. The leagues will then face off in bowl games such as the Rose, Sugar, Cotton, Orange and Fiesta to determine a champion.

The big brains at the AAU universities have already figured it out. Us poor simpletons in SEC just can't comprehend the grandeur of their plans.

If USC and Ohio State can buy the best players every year it won’t take long till most of the teams in the conference don’t have a chance. Interest will wane and few will be tuning in to watch most of the games that really don’t matter anymore

Consider how spaced out the Pac 12 is. They already fly everywhere for games

Are they going to schedule all away games in groups to eliminate this constant travel??

I know the Ga. high school group puts the farthest away opponents' events on the weekends to avoid the travel on a school night.

WHY would you have 3 groups? How do you determine a conf. champ? (You can't have A play B while C gets extra rest/practice.)

USC and UCLA are going from $33 million in TV revenue to potentially $100 million in media revenue.

I believe there just might be some extra revenue in there for non-revenue travel expenses.

So is it not likely we will see a point soon where football is a separate conference from non-revenue sports?

You fly the football team across the country, but the basket weaving teams compete against the neighboring schools' basket weaving teams?

Not as long as Title IX is still around.

If West Virginia can afford Big XII travel expenses I don't think any school in the BIG will have an issue.
