I have it on good authority that Gump was a god damn genious. He might have made general one day, but it was deemed to be a waste of a fine enlisted man.
On top of that, he was a war hero who saved many lives. Even saved a guy who was fated to die like everyone in his family who came before him.

I vividly remember watching that 2001 SECCG and seeing Junior and Lulu pop up live and thinking even at the time, "That image right there will live forever." And here we are.
