Eta: if I wasn't clear I think this is super cool to have on campus. My gripe was with the writer and that typical hyperbole, not the project itself.
I'm with you. This sounds very cool, but 2 phrases that are continuously overused by lazy writers are world class and state of the art.

Would be better to build an actual mountain bike course in the nearby woods. That thing is hardly world class and barely a mountain bike park. I would put mountain bike in quotes. Would be better to spend that money making the whole campus bike friendly.

Yep. You’re preaching my sermon right now, brother!

I've been mountain biking and hiking up there in the last year more than once. I have a kid in school. No pics. I think this is more of interest in biking safely around campus more than anything. But some of the elements they're adding I'm sure will be pretty cool.

Yeah that's cool and all, but does your campus have a river running through it?

Can I take my Wal Mart scooter off some sweet jumps?

World class isn't a misprint either. The trails are well maintained with a lot of wooden structures built in. Millions poured into them.

So is your point that quality mountain bike trails already exist in the surrounding area? because if that is indeed the case, why build a half arse track on your campus?

Does a river of money count?

Bentonville is the mountain bike capital of the world. Fayetteville just has a small sample
To the aggy, Texans drive hours to ride Bentonville because spyder mountain is a shithole

I don't think you looked at the second link
I'm not a millionaire, and maybe you are, but these ongoing plans and ongoing improvements are the brainchild of mega-billionaires
See this coffee shop? It's not accessible by car or truck.

I don’t mean to hurt your fragile feelings, but I think it’s safe to say that the majority of society doesn’t equate anything “world class” with Arkansas.
