Oklahoma alone has done more than USC and UCLA combined in football for the past 10+ years. If we're talking about more than college football then idk because I don't give af about the others really tbh lol

Really though, Big Ten took nearly a year to respond and this was the best they could come up with?

It is hard to believe they don't understand this. I know some of it is just denial on their part but I am not beginning to think you are right and they lack business sense. The B1G has planted its flag in every major market outside of the south and it may be only a matter of time before they plant it down there.

Oh my goodness child, it is you who does not understand business.

Let me put it another way, the Big 10 have gone into huge markets that could not care less about college sports. Advertisers and networks know this.

During the college football season there is

MLB playoffs and World Series (Sept and Oct)
NBA season starts (Oct 19th)
NHL starts (Oct 7th)

In those huge markets, where do you think the money is going to go? You think advertisers and streamers are going to go with the college game or pro? They only have so much money and, in those markets you are so proud of, there are at least three sports ahead of the college game.

Even if the Big Ten does plant a flag in the south, it will be with a team that the rest of the south will laugh at.
Georgia Tech? Tulane? UCF? Southern Miss? Arkansas St? UAB? Memphis? These are punchlines to college football jokes in the south.
Come to think about it, the Big Ten would fit right in.

The Big Ten will make quite a bit of money (but not as much as you think) but even with that since 2000 the Big Ten has won 3 national titles in the Big 3 sports total.

Ohio State - football (02, 14)
Michigan State - basketball (00)

and the Big Ten is predicting eyes on their teams in the major markets.

Good Luck, as the SEC continues to win National Titles (and make less money according to you), the newly expanded Big Ten will be home watching.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Not a chance. You Riley nut-huggers have no idea what was going on at OU with Riley there last year. He was on the verge of a mutiny. You're just lapping up media hype like unthinking morons.

A year ago at this time, you were probably one of the many Oklahoma fans kissing Riley's arse, praising him as an offensive prophet who was leading Oklahoma to the top. Then he took a better job and now you're one of the many jilted exes.

Football weather in the midwest is far better than the south.

Ohio State and Notre Dame are 1 and 2 in recruiting.
Appears that players in warm weather states didn't get the memo, or they aren't pu$$ies like you.

Great, wonderful

National titles combined in football since 1970, 5 (I am being fair, as roughly about 1970 integration kick in for the south)

OSU- 2 (two since 2000)
Notre Dame- 3 (none since 1988)
Michigan- 1 ( their last two, 1948, 1997)
Penn State- 2 (all in the 80's)
Nebraska-5 (last in 97 and we see what a juggernaut they are now)

Since 1970 (52 years)

number of titles and the year of their last one

FSU-3 2013
Florida -3 2008
Miami (Fl)- 5 2001
LSU- 3 2019
Clemson- 3 2018
Georgia- 2 2021
Tennessee- 1 1998
Auburn- 1 2010
Alabama- 10 2020

You like most on here lack any business sense. The SEC was already in Texas. They only added the OKC market.

There was no reaction by the B1G. Texas and Oklahoma applied to the B1G and were denied. They then turned to the SEC who accepted them after clumsy negotiations which leaked and killed the playoff and any future SEC expansion.

Warren and the B1G waited for the dust to settle and then like a chess master, made the biggest move in the expansion era and planted the B1G flag from coast to coast.

Marquee matchups 3 time zones apart. Good luck with OSU at USC ratings when the game ends after midnight eastern time. It makes no sense

Also got to deal with players/coaches traveling long distance and the late games that will force them to stay there overnight more often.

The B1G will get the best prime times for its marquee programs. Anyone who says otherwise has no business sense.

I don’t disagree, but it was on a another level when it was happening in LA.

It may have been but

Miami had fallen off, as had Nebraska
Coach Saban had not really started his magic
The SEC was not as dominate then as now (although the SEC did win 3 titles in the 90's)

Pet Carroll was at USC from 2001 to 2009, but the only excitement he generated was from 2002 to 2005. so four years

We talking Network or just BTN?

Ohio State vs USC might be top if USC does not go all Nebraska in the B1G

After that it falls off quickly

UCLA vs tOSU / MU / PSU probably mid level game
UCLA vs rest of B1G will be lucky to get on BTN Alt

USC vs tOSU / MU / PSU probably mid level game to upper mid level games
UCLA vs rest of B1G will be lucky to get on BTN Main

When USC is a top 5 team they draw far more eyeballs and media attention etc than when the okies are a top 5 team.

Riley made it pretty clear who was more desirable when he bolted Norman for USC.

The Big Ten is taking over.
Deal with it

Heard that when the B1G added Penn State in the 1st realignment
Heard that when the B1G added Nebraska in the 2nd realignment
Have a feeling we will hear it again in the 3rd realignment

Lather
Rinse
Repeat

You guys still can't admit that after 3 tries to wrk realignment in your favor, you still have not landed Notre Dame of Utx!

Good Luck with that, as the SEC takes home all the national titles the Big Ten takes the flagship from states that their team can not win national titles.

Shoot dude, USCe has won 2 in baseball, Vanderbilt 1 in baseball, even the Mississippi teams have won back to back baseball titles. The SEC's weakest teams are winning titles, (and we are not even talking football)

Even our newest members, before they even join, are outdistancing the Big Ten in titles.

The reason for expansion is to win titles, that catches the eyes of the viewers.

The Big Ten is like a department store that has mostly empty racks, an inventory in the back that is 50 years out of date, and reorders shlock.

Laughing at you and the Big Ten

Also, 12 months ago Riley was the second coming of Christ to everyone in Norman…he left (with a few of ou’s top recruits) and now he destined to fail at USC?
——————————————————————————————————————

Define fail. Riley will win plenty of games but most likely won’t win a Natty. OU will have a better chance to win one with their current coaching staff. Venables actually likes to recruit great players for the trenches and defense as a whole.

Either you are trolling or you have no business sense. All of those will be marquee matchups on CBS and at primetime and will be huge ratings. Anytime any combination of Ohio State, Michigan, Penn St, and USC get together than it is THE game of the week!

I’m sure SC and UCLA are going to help the BIG win more football titles.

Riley was recruiting alot of top talent at OU, a ton from CA and still couldn’t win big. At SC it won’t be any different. This is playoff era football now.
