Chicken wants to anchor the old thread and start a new one for the CWS.

Got the new bracket posted in the OP of just the CWS.

Besides being in your head, they are probably at home polishing their 6 National Championship CWS trophies.

Anyone notice how they started calling the baseball CWS the MCWS this season for the first time ever?

Did not notice but this is dumb.

Yep it is the WCWS and the MCWS. Everyone knew that baseball is the CWS and softball is the WCWS, but you know there is some lady somewhere who felt she was being subjugated.
Now we have another letter to deal with. As if my life wasn't already difficult enough.
I don't know how I am going to shoulder on after this.

I don’t see Tennessee on the bracket op. What time do they play? Surely I’m just missing it.

BTW, VolsUber, I looked for Tenner C on the NCAA list of CWS champions and could not find a single year where they won it all, dating back to the 40’s.
In that time frame the SEC has 13 CWS champions. Georgia was the first winner in 1990. So in the last 32 years….
LSU - 6
Vandy - 2
SCarolina - 2
UGA - 1
Fla- 1
MSU - 1
MSU won it all last year and there is a great chance that the SEC will pick up another trophy this year between Auburn, Arkansas, Miss or TAM.
But we’re all so glad that you started playing baseball 2 years ago. Welcome to the big stage, Vols. Maybe next year?

Number of teams making it to the CWS by conference. All time.
SEC - 110
Pac12 - 104
ACC - 99
Big12 - 82
Big10 - 29
BigWest - 26
The SEC has taken over Omaha the past few decades. Wrap your head around this: Since 1990, the SEC has sent three or more teams to the College World Series 13 times.

It has been a marathon defending this thread.
Feels like the Afghan occupation at this point.

Would make sense. Each matchup is a regional host vs. a team that was a 2 or 3 in a regional (don't think I've ever seen that at the CWS before), and I understand home teams in the opening game are "decided by seeding" (which seems like that could be open to different interpretations).
