An improvement, but still forumulaic, cliche-riddled, and lacking character development.
Oh, and Admiral Iceman looks like he is seconds away from transitioning, i.e., going "Full Bruce Jenner".
Fight me.

Wow, this is how A&M views our boys in uniform...
Damn shame that they can't respect the boys laying it all on the line for our freedoms.

It’s not supposed to be Schindler’s list.
Lighten up Francis. Sometimes movies and music are just supposed to be entertaining.

I mean, the jet scenes were good, but very meh overall movie. Not as gay as the first one, but close.

Sequel to Maverick in the Works
SAN DIEGO, CA—With a run time of one-and-a-half minutes, new release Top Gun: Predator shows a drone completing the exact same mission as in Maverick, but way faster.
"This is easily the most realistic Top Gun movie yet," said Navy pilot Ryan "Mayonnaise" Matthews. "It's a thirty-second thrill ride, wondering if the pilot will finish his bag of Doritos before the drone blows up the target."
Producer Tom Cruise said that the script for the new movie really wrote itself after he sat down with actual pilots to get their take on Top Gun Maverick. "The Navy guys just kept asking why there were people in actual airplanes," said Cruise. "They were adamant their drones could have performed the mission much more safely in under a minute. They also kept asking why we had to use so much body oil for the football scene, saying 'the Navy is gay enough already.'"
Filmed on-site at a real Navy trailer in the middle of the Nevada desert, Top Gun: Predator still manages to pack a lot of action into its ninety seconds. "You really feel like you are part of the action, watching the pilot absent-mindedly drum his fingers while he completes the raid," said Cruise. "We replaced the bit characters with literal cardboard cutouts and managed to squeeze in the exact same character arc once again, with Maverick learning to let go of Goose for the third time. He's getting faster at it. Also, we still have a random person walk up and yell 'fifth-generation fighter!' every ten seconds."
At publishing time, the writer of the new sequel has been banished from friends and family for his apparent low view of Top Gun: Maverick, the greatest cinematic achievement since Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2.

I get the plot was unrealistic but the action and cinematography was absolutely amazing.

*Spoiler Alert*
It was amazing that, for a jet flying hundreds of miles per hour (even at low altitude), that Rooster was shot down close enough for Maverick to run to him (in the snow), then they both were able to run to the nearby North Korean base (in the snow) while it was still daylight...and find an F-14 that was fueled up and loaded with weapons in the only hanger that wasn't hit by the tomahawks. Talk about their lucky day...

I respected their commitment to absolutely bending reality, TBH.
They knew it was absurd, but they didn't let up for a single second and everyone kept acting like this was totally normal for all involved.
Maverick surviving a plane blowing up at Mach 10.3 set my expectations for the movie, just a good mindless popcorn movie

It was way better than most of the woke garbage Hollywood puts out nowadays that's for sure.
Being a **** and all though, I'm sure you would disagree.
My only complaint is it was way over the top. But the cinematography and non CGI aerial scenes are amazing. Pays great homage to the first movie as well.
The actors all had to undergo intense pilot training courses to tolerate the g forces i heard. Tom Cruise is definitely the last authentic action hero movie star put there.

Great point...because at Mach 1, your helmet will melt.

I saw it last night. Just like Garth in concert, I think it did it's job. I think it is a great sequel to the first movie and gave the people what they wanted. If you expected a lot of new, outside the box stuff, I'm sure you would be disappointed by the movie or by Garth's concert.
