Kelly will return LSU to respectability. But this is a truly hard time to start from the basement of last place, and climb to the top of the SECw, not to mention conference.
I mean…LSU was left with a destroyed, dysfunctional program by that Oshole… I mean cancel-the-program problems. To overcome those negatives, and begin to win in conference, you have to consider the following:
Alabama isn’t going away;
ATM is recruiting like Musk vs Twitter;
Ole Miss and Ark have coaches and programs that have to be taken seriously;
What about State? Anyone looking forward to the pirate’s third year?
Only Auburn has equivalent negatives for development that LSU has.
This fall, Kelly could have a team superior to that LSU fielded last two years … and still go 2-6 or 3-5 in conference, easily.
One problem fans have, especially here, is that they focus on their own team exclusively. Well, the other team gets a vote too. And next year the SECw is going to be mean.
Point: climbing out of the hole Oshole left, surpassing all those other conference teams, is going to be a project.

Brian Kelly’s contract, incentives and buyout is more than Jimbo’s. The difference is, Jimbo came to Texas A&M with a national championship, 3 conference championships and 2 BCS/NY6 bowls. Brian Kelly has none of those and never came close to winning one.

How did that happen? Other teams in the SEC were bad or not good enough. This time around Ole Miss is a lot better. Texas A&M is a lot better. Arkansas is a lot better! Only Auburn is the unknown and isn't looking to be a lot better. MSU is borderline good to better. Kelly hasn't coach yet and LSU fans saying he will win a championship and beat all other teams that are doing much better and should be even better this year. How will that be like we will be back like the last 3 HCs did it. This is a different landscape that is giving other SEC a better chance to beat LSU. How did LSU do the last 2 years? Why was that? So that Ed Orgeron was a one hit wonder and saying the next one will be even better! That is silly!

LSU at the bare minimum will be facing scholarship limits, post season banishment, ..not to mention the inability to compete in the NIL thing, the wholesale exit of your players, etc. lol..even for you LSUStephen that’s an incredibly ignorant position. Even the top schools take years to recover from NCAA sanctions.
