I don’t see how him being dissatisfied with Kelly’s program makes him like Billingsly. JB was a lazy talent. Boutte seems to put in the work. He just seems to hate Kelly. After Kelly’s interview today it seems the feeling might be mutual.

To be eligible to play the fall he would have had to be in the portal by feb 1st.

Also, We got enough of WR room and we should be okay but it depends on how it goes.. we may take a graduate transfer if the situation isn't improved by young wrs... but i think we'll be okay.

There was a talking head on wjox yesterday that said the same thing that you have posted here. So, you are probably right. I wasnt clear on whether the talking head was saying it was an SEC rule or a national rule, though.

The NCAA rule is May 1, however the SEC rule requires transfers within the conference to be in the portal by Feb 1 to be eligible for Fall sports, unless it has been changed.

Wouldn't surprise me although I could see the SEC holding out unlike the NCAA. Coach O was fired in October and Kelly was hired in November. He had plenty of time to assess the situation and get in the portal before Feb 1, so I am not sure how much sway a coaching change will hold if he wants to enter the portal for an in conference transfer in April.

Injuries, coaching change, and possible NCAA sanctions might be able to get Boutte out of BR.

If he needed to get one from the NCAA I would say it would be all but guaranteed. I am less inclined to believe he gets one from the SEC for in conference even with the dumpster fire that is LSU but nothing would surprise me.
