No twatthang here are the Cliff notes with examples:

When I claimed Birmingham was a great restarant city.

"lol, by who? Your fricking redneck neighbors who let loose by crushing bud lights at Applebees on Friday nights? Birmingham out-punches it’s class for sure in the culinary world- it’s a fine scene and getting better. But Top 10 in the country? You’re on crack. At every turn you prove to the board that you’re a hayseed who’s never really been anywhere or done anything."

Then Ramblin Wreck posted a link that stated Birmingham was Top 10 for small cities and your "I just fricking you" response:

"Yeah, you think? The Birmingham chamber is already printing the billboards based on that article:

“Birmingham: #10 Surprisingly Good Food City”

I’m just messing with you, and the food scene there is, in fact, very good. But that wasn’t good enough for ‘ol Irons- he just can’t stop with his outlandish and indefensible claims, whatever the subject."

Than I posted a link from Zagat's that stated Birmingham was #1 as the next hot food cities in the country: LINK

And your response:
"I hit a little too close to your home with the Applebees bit, didn’t I? Do they have your name engraved on one of the barstools?

So anyway, let’s see, where to begin. You claimed that “the restaurant scene is considered Top 10 in the country.”

I called you out and easily made you look stupid, because you’re a dumb as shite redneck who’s never been anywhere, and your claim was completely indefensible. Which is all well and good, but then you doubled down! As proof that Birmingham is “considered top 10 in the country,” you provided us with these illustrious distinctions:

# 24, Most Exciting Food Cities in 2017
#10, Small Cities with Surprisingly Good Food

Do you understand now how dumb you are? Do you realize that your evidence does not support your ridiculous claim that Birmingham is considered a top 10 culinary scene in the country?"

Still looking for that magic number because you will not admit anything positive about Birmingham and would never accept proof from a poster that makes a living off making you look like a banjo playing moron. Look at the lists , look the links, watch the Food Network Specials, look at the SECN True South special and come to your own conclusion. Just put the banjo down and try.

You hit on a few points but we need a better explanation than this to be honest

Can you expound?

Birmingham is dead, it has been dying a long time but is now dead. Some of your native Hams have tried everything to revitalize but the people in the Jeffco suburbs and Shelby county have no interest in going there.
I'd say B'ham is one of the worst 10 cities in America.

Something tells me you haven't been to Birmingham in a long time. I know you haven't been downtown by your description of it. Downtown Bham is going through a revitalization, new restaurants and they are converting warehouses into condos and lofts. The Medical field is taking over. Again, we have people who do not have a clue posting on this subject.

I have provided enough for an semi-intelligent person to understand. But, please do not believe me and stay away from this shithole we call Birmingham.

Super weird melt as I’ve been complimenting Birmingham and it’s food scene throughout this thread. I took issue with one, very specific point you made which I would like for you to clarify now (or just admit you were being a dumb frick):

Please link all the reputable critics and culinary institutions who consider Birmingham to be a “top 10 overall culinary destination” in the country. You said this was generally accepted as fact, so surely you have several links to pull from?

Friend, I’m just trying to keep us on topic here so that we may have a robust and factually correct conversation.

Please link all the reputable critics and culinary institutions who consider Birmingham to be a “top 10 overall culinary destination” in the country. You said this was generally accepted as fact, so surely you have several links to pull from?

Here is an excerpt from the article on Zagat's:

The national restaurant guide Zagat.com has ranked Birmingham No. 1 on its new list of America's Next Hot Food Cities.

"Overshadowed for years by its neighbors Nashville and Atlanta, Birmingham has now come into its own as a premier culinary destination," Zagat editors said of the Birmingham restaurant scene.

The other cities in the Top 10 are: 2. Oakland/Berkeley, Calif.; 3. Detroit, Mich.; 4. Asheville, N.C.; 5. Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minn.; 6. Nashville, Tenn.; 7 Louisville, Ky.; 8. Durham, N.C.' 9. Phoenix/Scottsdale, Ariz.; and 10. San Antonio, Texas.

You do know who/what Zagat's is ?

I'm over a half-century old, and have lived in the area that entire time, the first 35 in the city limits.... so I may be qualified for an opinion.

My spouse and I avoid it at all costs. Right now we live 20 miles outside city limits and we choose to drive twice that far to a couple of other cities for shopping, dining, and entertainment. The suburbs closest to us have deteriorated greatly over the last 10 years by the bleeding over of the Birmingham elements.

Those frequenting Birmingham and think it's cool are the hipsters, soyboys and the like. They love the outdoor park near the baseball stadium, the one with "Black Lives Matter" painted (with taxpayer money) along the entire street two blocks long.

The mayor is a young socialist who declared the city a "sanctuary city" when it was cool. He just instituted guaranteed income for single mothers (no employment required).

The suburbs nearby that everyone speaks of have become unaffordable with the cost-per-sq.foot. Live any further out and your commute is 30-45 minutes for a 7-mile drive.

Bham IS top-10 in the nation... at crime rate... actually top-5 I think. All of those trendy restaurants, nightspots, and microbrews that the soys love aren't safe after dark.

I know.

LINK Why are you being so obtuse? Is it because you have to wet yourself since the argument is with an Auburn guy? No one in his or her right mind would argue about whether metro Birmingham has some bad spots are not.But you know good and well Birmingham proper has cultivated a solid reputation in the last decade as a restaurant destination.

There's enough trolling here without just being dead wrong about the topic.

The vast majority of violent crime in the Birmingham area still occurs in a handful of the same neighborhoods. Most people rarely go to those areas, and some of those neighborhoods are seeing some revitalization/gentrification. East Lake and Woodlawn specifically. The next one to probably start seeing improvements is Norwood.

And what about Morris Avenue? Supposedly one of the entertainment districts; there was a shooting there recently that made the news for several days, right? And what about the shootings (several different times) at the Galleria in Hoover? Birmingham is a wonderful place (to avoid)

Great news to hear that Harry will never be visiting Birmingham!

Now if we could just get him to stop starting stupid threads, we'd be in business!

Yes,a pretty bad one in 1978. No one really has gone to Morris Avenue in 40 years.
