ETA: No good restaurants in Birmingham. Confirmed by tRant posters in this thread.

Birmingham taken over by MS13. Confirmed.

Saban hates Birmingham. Confirmed.

Mayoral race is between a Crip and a Blood. Confirmed.

SEC offices should be relocated to Little Rock. General consensus.

Suburban sprawl and flight from crime, yeah, I know

But 200K population, down from 242 in the year 2000?

300K in 1970?

340K in 1960?

How do yall protect medical students at UAB? I had a buddy who did med school there. We walked his new apartment right before his wedding, and he said, "yeah, there was a murder right down our sidewalk weeks ago"

That was a LONG time ago

In competition with Atlanta and New Orleans. That answer should suffice.

You need to look at the City Limits on a map. I know it is hard for someone from Ark to understand Urban Development, but I will try an bring it down to a 2nd Grade Level. The Metropolitain Birmingham area is still the largest by far in the state, it has increased over the years. Most of the population is moving to areas outside the city limits both North, East and South of Birmingham. You have people who now live in Mountain Brook, Homewood, Trussville, Hoover, Alabaster, Leeds and Pell City. Like most Southern Cities, the inner city is no longer a desirable place to live. They still shop and work in Birmingham. Actually downtown Birmingham is going through a renewal.

Yeah not sure why people like it there and think it is so great other then they do not know better. Some nice places to live. Also some nice restaurants. Other then that it really is a waste.

I lived in Atlanta on two separate occasions. It has become a generic shithole with its sister city of Dallas. If not for Hartsfield....... Birmingham is a well-kept secret (hope it stays that way). Great restaurants, shopping, good jobs, decent traffic, good surrounding scenery and an airport that is easy to get in and out of.

I know dummy - my brother lives 30 miles outside it

Little Rock for instance, sort of the same thing, but Birmingham Alabama is the worst of the worst in the south on this topic

The Detroit of the South is Birmingham

The southside Chicago of the south is Birmingham

And you refuse to fix it. We were all born after tDecline and you refuse to fix it

there should be a flyover
