From Auburn’s standpoint…

Final four
Elite 8
SEC regular season championship
SEC tourney
Sweet 16

I know many here would put the sweet 16 ahead of the tourney championship, but to me it feels like any time you have a chance to cut down nets it’s pretty special. Plus just the rarity of it for Auburn. We have one sec tourney win in 35 years and have been to the sweet 16 3 times in that time span IIRC.

Final four

I'm one of those that couldn't care less about the best team in my region (conference). I like being best in the country. Nobody remembers conference championships. Tell me who won the Big 12 regular season in basketball 5 years ago. Who won the Pac 12 last year?

Thanks to everyone who has posted. As an Auburn fan, we obviously don't have a ton of any of them.

My personal ranking:

Final Four

SEC Championship (season)
Elite 8

Sweet 16
SEC Tournament

The SEC Championship and Elite 8 are very close for me. I give it to the season long accomplishment, but I definitely see the POV for those putting Elite 8 over it. I'm kind of surprised at people putting Sweet 16 over SEC season Championship.

I think it has to have something to do with the difficulty. To me it is a lot harder to reach the Final 4 than win a conference tourney. Different leagues would rank this differently as well. It's a lot easier for Gonzaga to win the conference regular season than reach the Sweet 16.

1. Final 4
2. Reg season championship
3. Elite 8
4. Tourney title
5. Sweet 16

The answer is always this...assuming you come from a multi-bid league.

A season long conference title slightly bumps an Elite 8 that is essentially winning 3 games where someone else may have cleared the way for you by beating the best or better teams.

Precisely. Exactly what I said from a Kentucky point of view but I get downvoted by salty bitches anyway for saying the same thing.

The Sweet 16 means nothing to me. Winning the SEC tournament is at least something noteworthy.

In all seriousness, whatever gets the most publicity for the longest period of time. You are spoken of more with the NCAA tourney than any of the others!
