I don’t mind Ozuna as a bench bat. He always has the potential to go deep. But I don’t see how we keep him. Shitty person.
The lesson here is don’t buy into 60 game seasons when he had been trending downward the couple years before that.
But the whole fan base wanted it so can’t blame AA.

It left a bad taste in my mouth when they re-signed him after the domestic abuse issue. The DUI further confirms the dude needs to be gone.

Your timeline is off. He resigned in February 2021. The domestic assault arrest was in May of 2021. Regardless, it has been a bad signing that looks to finally be over. Unfortunately Atlanta will have to eat a chunk of that big contract.

AA tried to trade him before the deadline.
And I'm sure offering to eat half the contract.
Of course, no takers for a declining player with personal issues.

With tonight's walkoff we have won 11 of our last 12. With series against the Pirates and Rockies there's an outside shot at another 20 win month.

It's pretty remarkable the Braves are still in 2nd place in the division given how well they've played since June.
The Mets have to falter at some point.

Robot, seems since the call up of Grissom. Ozuna arse on the bench. We're rolling!
Posted on 8/20/22 at 10:58 pm to Canyon16
I don't see them sending Grissom back down. Not sure what happens when Ozzie comes back. Maybe he can man an outfield spot?

Just more options when Ozzie gets back.
Astros had this series circled. And we scratched, clawed for the series victory.
Hopefully we get the sweep.

9 straight road wins.
1.5 out.
Kyle Wright now 16-5, 2.99 era.
Grissom/Harris bring the confidence/swagger/energy.
Since June 1, Matt Olson leads NL in the RBI category. Overall, only 3 behind the Judge in that time span.
Another challenging series up next with the St.Louis Cardinals.

Jansen is arse.
He blew this game single handedly.

Its on snitker.
Jansen is awful- every outing is a circus, but it was clear he had nothing tonight. His usually shitty 94 mph fastball was at 92 mph tonight and had zero movement on it. The guy is a headcase, but snitker decided it was jansen game to lose so we lost.
Ill say it again- snit can not manage a bullpen. Only gripe with AA last couple years is going out and getting washed up shite relievers for big money - will smith & jansen.
Jansen is no longer a closer anymore than will smith was. Time to retire.
There are at least 3 arms in that pen better suited for closing.
Iglesias should be closing. He has three out pitches, and tons of experience.

By the way- if Snit didnt replace Will Smith last year as closer he'll never make a move.
If AA doesnt make a call jansen will close the rest of the season, and that will smith playoffs miracle we saw last year is not happening again.
The frick is up with Atl using the least talented arms in their pen as the closer ? Cant make this shite up. SMH

To be fair, Snit leaving Morton out there longer than he should have and our lineup's inexplicable struggles against Jordan Hicks, who actually fricking sucks arse despite what TV broadcasts that nut themselves over his velocity will tell you, also played major roles in tonight's bed shitting. It's mostly on Jansen though. He's the 3rd best arm in the bullpen after Minter and Iglesias. It makes no sense that he is the closer for this team.

Morton deserves some blame too. You are paying this guy $20M this season and give him a 4-0 lead….you should win this game comfortably. But The fricking walk and HR to the BACKUP catcher after we just got a 4-0 lead cannot happen. Especially for a veteran like Morton. The Arenado and Goldschmidt stuff happens but that cant

Jansen, with a 1 run lead, against a playoff quality team = blown save coming up.
No question, Iglesias or Minter should be our closer.
Jansen's, once great, is now, well past his prime.
