Beat a college team at any level? I'm not even considering the bottom feeders of any p5 or g5 schools. Do you think they could beat a middle of the road d2 school from the OVC or something like that? A coworker and I were discussing this. I think there is certainly a chance they could beat some super low level college like a d3 school but also believe a school like Eastern Illinois would best them fairly easily.

IMG’s best composite team (they have two) playing fully motivated and at their peak would absolutely throttle a middle-of-the-road D2 school, IMO.

Yes.
The gap between the best of high school and the worst of college is smaller than you think.
The gap between the best of college and the NBA is wider than Megan Mullen’s hips on high school football national signing day.

NO. Not a chance. I went from high school, a prominent high school to D2 and it was incredible the difference in speed, size and strength just at the D2 level.

So...which is it, because D2 and FCS are two different things. The OVC is FCS...and they would wipe the floor with a top high school team. A true D2 school would struggle with a top HS program.

There is something to be said for the physical maturity difference in 16-18 years olds and 20-22 year olds not to mention college strength programs even at the D2 level.

The issue is that D2 schools are made up of a bunch of really good high school players.
Even the best high schools only have a handful of D1 players and the rest are average.
Those average guys are going to hold the D1 guys back if they played basically a high school all star team in a D2 school.

Maybe the worst team at the lowest level.

I think so. In basketball one good player can take over a game. I could see a team that had a 5 star and maybe a few other D1 prospects beating a few schools. i dont know which teams are the best HS teams but the ones where kids go to be seen I bet could

North Little Rock HS has 2 of the top-10 players in the nation, so I think they might beat some.

I think a top high school team could beat Mizzou since we have avg. mid-major players.

agree.
16/17 year old kids vs 21/22 year old men?
Basketball,maybe.
Football, no.
21/22 year olds are too mature and strong, and would expose whatever weakness high school team has.

By OVC, do you mean the Ohio Valley Conference? If so, the OVC is an FCS conference, not D-II.

Sorry, I responded to the OP regarding the OVC being FCS prior to reading your post.
I disagree with your assessment of D2. One of my undergraduate degrees is from Valdosta State. While there, I attended all of VSU's home game and many games at Valdosta High, Lowndes, etc, and saw their regional matchups.
The high school defensive backfields simply could stand up against a typical D2 WRs and QBs for an entire game.

Eastern beat Illinois in an exhibition not too long ago. Any team could win, example Robert Morris over Kentucky in NIT. THAT’S A WTF.

Yes I mixed them up. I guess my question was essentially, starting at the fcs level and going down, at what point if any do you think a highschool team would have a chance?

The difference between an FBS player and a D2 player is maybe a couple of inches in height or some other such measurable.
The players on a D2 roster were typically All-Region or All-County or similar, but instead of being 6'2"/230, they are 6'0"/210.
You are asking if 16-17 years olds can go up against a bunch of 20-year-olds who've had several more years of playing time, coaching, strength/conditioning, etc.
