We have not been able to do anything under him. Is it his fault?

Just got to get to his 3rd season. Everyone knows that’s when his team makes a big jump and he takes off from there.

Should have never fired Stansbury.
But would be a mistake. Got to give him one more year.

Yep Stansbury use to have the Hump rocking. I remember the student section use to bring in poster boards and would use them to make noise, was kinda cool.

It's time to move on. State has potential and the right guy can and should consistently make the dance and elevate States profile. I think State and Carolina are both in the same boat

Howland has done a good job of stabilizing State. The job is more attractive now than when he got there.

Stansbury has been doing well with Western Kentucky. Probably had more talented teams than Howland has at State

The idiots in charge changed student section about 10-12 years ago. Since then we have had the worst home court advantage in the conference because the students are in the completely wrong area of the coliseum.

He probably deserves one more year but that depends on the finish

I think he retires gracefully.
He stabilized the program and deserves that. With a $50 million renovation of the Hump about to get underway, it’s an attractive job.

I think that is potentially true. He has done a tremendous job but it is like we hit a stone wall with being average-good and not getting us to a good-great level. 2019 could have gone a long but was upset in the first round. 2020 could have made a decent run in the tournament but of course it was cx.
I would not be surprised if he retires at the end of the season unless we make an unexpected run to finish out the season.

This was his one more year. He is gone this year. In 7 years he made the tournament one year and lost as a 5 seed. Every year is the same story

Stan’s hey had to go. We had a good 9 year run with him but his career was a lot longer than 9 years. Rick ray was an awful hire but didn’t change the fact getting rid of stansbury was the right call. Don’t see anyone talking about how getting rid of Godroed was a bad call

Moving the students off the court ruined the hump. We won’t have a competitive team until that changes (regardless of who the coach is).

He should. I don't know if yall will. He would be at a school that cares.

I'm kinda torn on Howland. I can see what he's trying to do with his roster, and I like the ideas. We rebound and defend the rim. There is no reason that this team isn't winning more games. They simply don't make plays down the stretch against quality competition. Is that coaching? Maybe, but after watching so much bad State basketball post-Stans, I'd be hesitant to cut a guy loose who is at least building rosters that make sense.

He's a pretty good recruiter. He's not a good coach.
