[Hummer] There's a "good possibility" former Duke head coach David Cutcliffe joins Texas staff in an off-field capacity, a source tells @247Sports.

We all know it’s completely obvious they’re doing it for arch but that’s actually a solid hire for Texas.

I don't think this necessarily makes Texas the favorite

Cutcliffe and Patterson in “off-the-field” roles. Sark is making some good hires.

Don't kid yourself.
Texas is 3rd at best behind UGA and Bama right now.

Seriously doubt it w their recent commit. He’s not sitting the bench for 2 years

I understand the Cutcliffe angle but I don’t think that will effect the Manning’s. I believe they will want to put him in the best situation possible. That may be Texas but I don’t think it will be because Cutcliffe.

I'm curious if Texas would be in the SEC before he left school.

Let's break down Final 4
Texas with Cutcliffe still in it
UGA still in it
Bama I think with Saban possibly not still being there for his entire career, out
Ole Miss out Kiffin too volatile

U think so ? Really ? The first Manning to commit to a school to play football outside the sec conference ?? You actually think that will happen ? I think all the women in that family went to sec schools as well.

Not surprising. It's well known that he really likes Sark. Now, if Texas falls on it's face again...

I really think the dawgs are better off without him. We have 2 really good QBs ahead of him, and I don't think we should mess that up. There would be pressure to play him, resulting in some bad locker room mojo, transfers etc...

Everyone is missing the biggest factor....winning. If Sark keeps up the decade plus long pattern...they will continue to struggle in recruiting.
Texas does have one hell of an opportunity this coming season with OU being down. If they screw this coming season up and don't win the Big 12, nothing has changed. Just new faces with same results.
I personally wouldn't expect much other than a few good wins with more disappointing losses. And I am sure the players will get the blame....again. Sark is completely and totally unproven and Year 1 was a disaster.

Texas is the favorite, trust me on this one

Once Cutcliffe went to Texas this one was over.
