I’m gonna warn y’all. If we keep Harsin, the only way to give a show in confidence in him and attempt to rectify the knee capping they did to his already lack luster recruiting, is to extend him a year. That will give him a leg to stand on when he’s in living rooms recruiting showing he’s stable and not going anywhere. Of course this would be preceded by a statement saying an in-depth investigation was conducted and he was cleared of all wrong doing.

That’s the most Auburn thing ever. fricking retards are running the place.

I can also see Harsin having a helluv or a season and then saying frick off and leaving for another job.

I have to bet Darren Uscher, Director of Recruiting, has some boring days at the office nowadays. Like how do you do anything recruiting wise while this shite is going on. Terrible not to be able to do anything for 2-3 weeks while this shite goes on and is like a clog in a toilet that won't unclog.

If we are smart, long shot, his contract says buyout offset by a new job. He has a solid year, then UCLA "steals" our coach.

I dont think Harsin has the "offset language" I know Gus did not. But if an ASU or UCLA come after him I dont think we would put up a fight and might wave any buyout he has to leave.

People say its an $18 millions dollar decision, in all honesty its only about a $3-5 million dollar decision. Even if he coaches this year he is looking at a $15M buyout in Dec so not a big difference from now until then.

I feel like Harsin could be a fantastic coach without BS in his way, but it's very difficult to get that here. He might not be the best recruiter, which I admit is a part of coaching, but his mindset seems to be solid with the right setup.

I mean he was doing all the workouts with the athletes, that has to build some kind of camaraderie with the right type of athlete. It's easy to say do one more rep when you're the guy just standing there watching/coaching them through the rep, but when you are doing it with them you can actually know when they might be at a breaking point that can either be pushed through or can break one down.

Everyone here praised the TE involvement that we lacked, that is very present at the NFL level--Kelce/Gronk/Ertz/Kittle so not having the best WRs isn't always a problem with that added target.

I hated not getting the best WR/OL/QB recruits but Holden really does look promising, he's already in Auburn Football workout social media posts.

I don't know about what's going to happen, no one does, but I believe if we can get through this mess with Harsin it can possibly be something great.

Zero chance with the current power structure and obstacles in his place right now. How is the man and his staff even supposed to recruit?

There are ways to salvage this, but it was take a big PR campaign and some major crow eating by AU. They would have to disassociate or fire some people in leadership and then go on TV and kiss Harsin's arse and apologize. If that happens, it might be possible to move on.

Absolutely no reason to do this for Football Tony Barbee

IF we fire him for cause, there is now way in hell he gets another HC job. That is why he is wanting his full buyout.......if not more per what was reported.

I think he’s a good coach but it’s apparent he hates all the extra stuff (like going to events and visiting schools) and there’s zero chance he succeeds without doing those things. That way works out west but in the south he’s going to have to go to them.

I’d like to be optimistic and say he’s learned that lesson but we’ve seen he’s hard headed and is going to do what he thinks is best. Him sticking around is going to be the worst case scenario IMO.

In all seriousness why not go be an NFL position coach and try working up the ranks. No recruiting, no boosters. Rich NFL players would kill him, but we don't have to tell him that

Why not? Is it because he isn't necessarily Bobby Petrino or Rick Pitino and not really desirable?

PTB would love to absolve cause and just say the relationship isn't mutually going to work and pay him a reduced buyout if that's what he really wanted. He's more worried about his contract. A contract that was admittedly fair to Harsin and to the university.
