He was hired less than a month ago for the same job at Miami.

Wonder if he got assurances of getting a chance to run the offense if Monken leaves. He was Co-OC in Miami and had been with Cristobal for a few years. Don't see him making a lateral move like that without something extra.

Pumped to have him back on the trail for us.

If you read his wikipedia, he's done a lot of hopping around, mainly because his HC's keep getting fired. Maybe he wants something more stable- Kirby isn't likely to get fired anytime soon. Also, roots and that sort of thing. His family is probably tired of bouncing around so much too... it's not like he's been making top tier money to justify the bouncing around.

Also also- what is shinier on your resume- three years as an assistant at Miami or three years as an assistant at Georgia under Kirby? It's approaching the Saban Effect, where people want to come work in your program for a couple years to get that glow and then sling-shotting your career.

I could see him and Faulkner getting co-OC titles. Faulkner may just be waiting to be announced when Monken officially goes to the NFL

Very very good news.

I'm starting to wonder what other coaching staff in college football - in history - has ever had so many former players from that school on the coaching staff in such important positions.

We are not there yet, but I could see our HC, OC and DC all being former UGA players along with some critical position coaches.

Interesting what is being set up here.

Maybe add Frank Ros as LB coach, Scott Warner or Terry Hoage to coach DBs, Freddie Gilbert on DEs.

I personally love that we have so many UGA men coming home. Not in a Ray Goff kinda way.

Miami to uga isn’t lateral, and zero chance he is in line to be the OC

Fck Kirby he shot his load and couldn’t even keep his best receiver and he had to come kiss the same arse he kicked. He’s hurting for pass catchers and had to swallow pride. The way I see it BMac is awesome but our receivers are gonna eat next year and we got qb’s. When the oc is named BMac gona Come down get the scraps. Fck him.
