Then you know that it can motivate players. Listening to people say things, you allow yourself to reflect on what is happening. Constructive criticism is valuable. While I doubt Coach Saban completely listens to everybody and everything, we know he listens

I have no doubt some of the Alabama fan base (very few) did just that, but then we also did it to Coach Bryant.
Alabama's expectations are high, but then so are the rewards.

The team would expect to win regardless of what the fans expect, thus, fan expectations do not matter.
I expect LSU to go 8-4 next year, their actual record will not be affected by my expectations at all.
The statement that Alabama football is "good" because of high fan expectations is just moronic and the sign of a major homer.

Kind of "hard" to shell out hard earned money on a team "expected" to lose. Fan expectation is what puts people in the seats of a 100,000 seat stadium. And when stadiums are "full" of fans expecting their team to win, you don't think players "feed" of of that?

I think you're misunderstanding my point.
Obviously a stadium full of fans give the team "energy," obviously a team expected to lose isn't going to constantly sell out.
My point is that the high expectations of Alabama fans specifically isn't one of the things that causes Alabama to be better than everyone else.
Each fanbase of each elite college football programs has high expectations, LSU fans are constantly ridiculed on this site because they expect to win a title every year, doesn't mean they do.

During my time at the University of Alabama I talked to many an athlete playing for Alabama. They strived to be the best they could be because the fans expect them to be the best they could be. They also did it for their teammates, coaches and their families. If you think they were not listening, and reacting to what was being said, then you are mistaken.
