It all depends which one your school is doing better in

Basketball.
How many championships did Shaq win?
You have to have so many things go right to win a title in basketball. It is why you won’t see a team play for 7 out of 9 national championship games like you can see in football.
Alabama is proof that football is far easier. No one can accomplish that in basketball. Not even coach K or Cal.

One great player can carry a basketball team? Who is the last one to do that?
Cam carried Auburn to one in football but I can’t think of one in basketball

You ever heard of John Wooden?

I was thinking the exact same thing. Hello Wooden, UCLA.

Depends. Only a select few programs in football can win it all for the most part. Basketball has more parity and is easier to win at larger group of schools than football due to the ncaa tourney

That is your proof?
Basketball from over half a century ago?
You got me.

in basketball you can get 1 elite, "one of the best in the country" type of palyers and have success since there's only 5 dudes on the floor. You get a superstud and that 20% of your players automatically that's elite. Get 1 elite guy and a bunch of really good guys and you're a tourney team automatically.
We had Anthony Edwards and we sucked. LSU had Ben Simmons and they sucked.

You’ve lost your mind. College basketball and it’s not close. Assuming you have the resume and wins to get in, you then play no less than 6 games to win it all and your out with one loss. Bama has one multiple titles without elite QBs he’ll Georgia won a title without an elite QB.
Baseball would be next because it’s hard enough to get elite players who don’t go to the draft but if you make it through Omaha you then have to win a best of three series.

If you had included that in your original point you wouldn't have looked so dumb. Alas, you did not.
If football had a huge playoff field it would be a lot harder for repeats as well. Basketball is still far easier to assemble a team and compete.
I know you think y'all are a basketball school now but your own football program should show you how hard it is to build a winner, let alone a repeat winner.

When’s the last time a team got one elite guy that carried the team to a championship? Could be wrong but from my memory it hardly ever happens.
Then you have cases like Anthony Edwards. His team wasn’t even good

Here is the original question. It’s not a history debate. You are the one that looks foolish.

Is it more impressive to win in college basketball or college football?
It has nothing to do with what Auburn is good at right now.
Basketball is far harder to end on top than football and it’s not even close.

If this was really harder, you’d have a much broader group of teams represented in the playoff and finals.

In football you can't just have 1 elite guy and a bunch of pretty goods and make the playoffs or top 10, you need a whol ebunch of really good guys that are some of the best in the country, along with coaching.
