I think it’s really because he played for the Lions for so long, none of us can believe he actually made it to the NFCCG let alone beat Brady.

Stafford isn't nearly as big of a "Georgia folk hero" as Joe Burrow is an "LSU folk hero."
He didn't go undefeated, didn't win the Heisman, didn't have one of the best passing seasons ever, and didn't win a national championship.
He's also been in the league much longer.
ETA- There's also far more LSU posters than Georgia posters here thus more chance of it being brought up.
