I'm with you. Disappointing how the guy gets slammed. He gave his all and damn sure contributed to our wins this season. Obviously new talent coming in will displace his roll with the team. Wish him the best...
I agree and wish SB the best but he ain’t gettin’ drafted. LOL to the max.

Slade may indeed be an NFL special teams player or more. He's got the toughness, quickness and football instincts to be a solid pro ST player.

He’s most definitely not quick
Maybe he sticks onto a PS for a few years like some former Bama players have.

Didn't say he was going pro, said he was entering draft. For him to go pro, someone has to take him. Maybe pro USFL

Some one will take him as an UDFA and give gime a chance at a roster spot. He's hard working, dependable and a solid contributor. Pretty sure he already has a masters and was offered a PHD spot as well he's smart AF.

He'll either go VERY late, or sign as a free agent. Either way, he'll get a shot!
The kid's got his Natty ring, and I believe he's gotten about as far as he's gonna go in college, so...

My God, some of you are so damn brainwashed that you can’t see shot right in front of you. Coach Saban and pro scouts say Slade is very quick indeed!!!
“Slade’s really quick,” head coach Nick Saban said. “A lot of guys like Slade become very effective slot kind of players because they’re quick out of a break. They’ve got good initial quickness. Really good hands. Very smart and heady in terms of their instincts and their ability to make quick decisions. That’s something that fit well for him. I know he played quarterback -- he played all over the place in high school, but he’s done a good job.”

Uh yes!!! Good grief, people wake up and stop believing the bs.

Of course Saban would say that. He speaks highly of his players most of the time. I doubt any pro scout will say that about him.
I don’t think you know what brainwashed means either. We’ve seen him play. He runs very slowly for a small guy. Has no lateral moves. Almost never makes anyone miss. If guys like Maze (also a small WR but actually quicker) couldn’t make it, I don’t see why Slade will. Like I said at best he’s a PS player for a few years. Maybe he gets activated for a game or two along the way.

Saban doesn’t blow smoke and I know full well what brainwashed means. You can’t see the obvious because you’ve been conditioned to believe otherwise.

I don’t have to believe it when I can see it with my own two eyes.

And that's my point. Throw intellect and fact out the window because you think you see something...conditioned. Saban sees him everyday as did his hs coach. They both laud Slade's quickness.
Moving on.
Moving on.

Serious question: Is there really a dime's worth of difference between Slade Bolden and Richard Mulaney?
Because fans absolutely loved Mullaney. So why the problem with Slade?
Maybe not. Did Mullaney drop multiple passes in a game that we lost? Including one that hit him in the chest in the end zone that would have changed the result of that game?
I honestly don't remember.

We have some of the most bipolar fans in all of CFB. The same fans bashing Bolden now were probably the same bashing Metchie during the first half of the season when he lead the team in drop passes including 3 in the loss to a&m. But now are praying for Metchie to come back.

I’m not bashing Slade. He started this season because none of the backups could beat him out. I would put him into the category of guys like Darius Hanks, Richard Mullaney, Christion Jones, and maybe a few others. Guys who were good enough to start and did their best but are not really NFL material.
Even guys like Maze, Norwood, and Stewart couldn’t make the league long (if at all in the case of Maze). Making the NFL is pretty hard.
As to why Mullaney got bashed but Slade didn’t, fans are expecting more. I do think Mullaney was better. Similar per game averages but played in a notably worse passing offense. He also made some really hard catches. But that’s not why. Fans have become used to NFL caliber receivers everywhere. So some fans were disappointed one of the 5* WRs weren’t stepping. Spoiled? Yes. People forgot what it was like for most of Saban’s tenure here.

I am really old and there was a day where just being a really good college football player was enough. Coach Bryant had hundreds of them that never played in the NFL but were really good for Bama.
I would tab Slade as one of that group.
Hope he makes money, but it could be very difficult in the NFL.

This may be a case where Coach Saban encouraged Slade to transfer or try his luck with the draft. Playing time at Alabama might be difficult to find next season. I hope so.
