Pay for play?
Let's assume we're talking about a legitimate NIL deal where a business is paying an athlete for the use of him name, image, and likeness, to promote their business. How many of those businesses would derive any value from that once the kid leaves their market?

Yeah, I find it very strange that A&M pulled in the greatest recruiting class of all time because of NIL, yet we haven't heard of hardly any NIL sponsors. Not even fake charities like we run.

Makes me very dubious that all of this is actually above water, especially with how much they simultaneously brag about and downplay NIL. Their recruits might be telling the truth when they say NIL didn't make a big impact...because it's not NIL.

This Texas school of preaching gig they lined up for Dindy's dad is some kind of scam, 100%. Never seen an Ag even attempt to address this nonsense.

Hearing a horn raise any concerns about it, however, is good stuff.

We were months behind y'all. We didn't start the arms race, we just joined it earlier than most. Tbh if A&M doesn't start handing out massive wads of cash to everyone I doubt we go nearly as hard. (So thank you for that, our class would have probably been garbage had it not been for y'all.)

You’ve got to be kidding. Stop acting like a couple of good years (in the sec East no less) means shite. Know your place, son.

The only bigger douchebag than Billy and Brandon is Fat "Pluckers" Ketchum with OrangeBloods.

Hey, I'll give them credit, they are being innovative in their use of the NIL.

NIL is here to stay, live with it.....

You do understand they made the NIL donations tax deductible with that move? So, not only is 25% not getting skimmed off the top(fleece those rubes TexAgs) they get a tax deduction too.

I'd bet more schools follow the Texas model than the copycat Stacked model.

Why did they pick a name that is common to pancakes?

What aggies won't tell you is that we already are running the 'stacked' version too. Other two are additional NIL deals. Only difference.... our guys aren't skimming 25% off the top. It all goes to the players.

And yes, agreed. Most should, and will, copy the charitable contribution model. It's a good one and if done right could actually do some good things in the communities (both for the universities and home towns of the players).
