It is, however, safe to say that the NCAA would not be too eager to allow investment groups started by alumni of particular schools to publically entice players in the transfer portal to play for their football program for money.

A&M boosters say hold my beer and they are not the only one. That can of worms has been blown wide open.

Trying to get his alma mater put on probation apparently, as doing that is against the rules.

And there it is. The quid pro quo. Nice job NCAA, you just terminated your own existence.

So if I was a jerk I could offer someone money on Twitter to go to Bama to see if I can get Bama under investigation?

Unless you're saying they should have been more pro-active(which I do agree on), I'm not sure why you're blaming the NCAA on this. The NCAA didn't do this.

This shite is out of control. Anyone who believes the NCAA has the balls or know how to properly administer NIL, is smoking crack

No. You'd need to be a booster or associated with the program directly.

Pretty sure doing NIL this way is still illegal.

It’s essentially what everyone else is doing but you can’t be that open about it.

Making public offers of NIL money with a direct quid pro quo is a really bad idea.

A specific inducement to sign with a school is a clear violation of recruiting rules, and is what the “bagmen” have been doing for years.

If an alum of any school did that, it would not be permitted. This is not what NIL is.

NIL just allows student athletes to pursue opportunities to monetize their personal brand, which were previously denied.

But it makes you wonder what the NCAA is going to be able to enforce.

Something tells me this was Batch’s point of the twitt. It’s exactly what’s going on in a nutshell.
