I mean Bennett played pretty well the first time. Their defense on the other hand

I wouldn’t go that far. He racked up 351 total yards and 3 TDs. He escaped a few sacks too. But he also did it on 55 plays, threw 2 picks, and should had another pick. It was an up and down game for him.

UGA could very well beat us but if our offense can have a similar performance, then I fully expect Bennett to wilt under pressure again. He’s no different than Jake Fromm in that he’s really good when everything is going to plan and there’s no pressure on the offense. If he gets behind or has to play keep up, he gets uncomfortable and starts forcing things.

Which begs the question. Can Bama's offense replicate the performance from the SEC Championship game ? They were excellent when we needed it most.

Bennett was pressured 1 or 2 times the entire night against Michigan. On 1 of those he just threw a prayer across his body to the middle of the field that was basically an arm punt.

Bennett is who he is. If we pressure him he'll throw it to us.

I posted this in another thread but it makes sense here too.

Stetson Bennett has played against Alabama twice and is 0-2, 47-88 (53%), 609 yards, 5 TDs, 5 Ints and an avg QBR of 70.

140 of Bennetts yardage was from Bowers. Bowers was 10 of his 29 completions, noticeably in that second half spurt

If our OL plays like it did in the SECCG and we contain Bowers on defense, we will win the game.

Nick and staff have to do something to control #19 for UGA. Stetson looks for that guy at the snap. Got to redirect his routes to the sideline and not the seam or inside. If so, Stetson will lose some of that confidence he has throwing the ball.

If the defense plays like it did for the Cincy game then he shouldn't be able to do much, I'm just more worried on how our offense is gonna perform again. Nick and the staff is gonna have to come up with a plan to contain Bowers or Stetson's job is gonna be real easy

Cincinnati and Georgia aren't comparable, though. Cincinnati's offense isn't good, wasn't good and couldn't compete physically or athletically with us.

We have to be more consistent defensively on Tuesday. We can't have 2-3 drives where we just lose focus like we did the first game.

True I agree with that however I believe Cincy had a more dynamic offense than Georgia. They had to have a plan to contain Ridder from making plays on his own we won't have to worry about that so much with Stetson Bennett. You are most definitely right on saying we have to be more consistent on defense, their tight end can break the game for them he almost did last time, he is gonna be the biggest pain in the arse we have to deal with

But they haven't all year. Against much worse defenses. Georgia has consistently been a much much better offense than Cincinnati.

Ridder is awful... They basically had zero passing ability. Part of that is they couldn't block our 4 with 5. Even still Georgia has a much better passing game and that makes them a lot more dangerous

Before the game, it was noted ad nauseum that Cincinnati

(A) Gets in 3rd and long a lot

(B) Is awful in 3rd and long

(C) Heavily relies on breaking 3-4 big runs by Ford a game

They had absolutely no shot against us on offense. It was as bad a matchup as Michigan/Georgia.
