How was auburn defense able to manhandle bama except for 1:34 sec. No one else has gotten close including cinniatti

They were well prepared and stopped the run. Once they proved they could stop the run they went man to man and Alabama’s line couldn’t handle Hall and Wooden.

Well Cincy is tiny AF.

Why has no one else come close. Aub defense made ua offensive line look bad
Posted on 12/31/21 at 5:45 pm to westcoastaubie
Also why do the talking heads never talk about Aub manhandled Ua

Texas A&M did the same. Alabama’s OL looked bad against them.

We had a very talented and veteran defense.
Bobo and the offense have rightfully been getting most of the blame for a lot of the disappointments this season, but Mason absolutely deserves to be criticized. The defense honestly played like shite a lot of the time, considering the personnel we had. And most of those poor defensive performances were bc of game planning , shite schemes, and preparedness (ie, Mason's fault)
The Mississippi State collapse was inexcusable, and alone would've been enough justification to fire him imo. Only thing that saved him was Bobo being significantly worse, so I doubt Harsin wanted to be replacing both coordinators after only 1 season, and bc we still somehow managed to pull in a good defensive recruiting class. Although I think that had more to do with his assistants than Mason himself.

Cincy played better than thUGA though

Disagree. Outside of MSU, the D played well enough to win every game if the offense was not so dreadful.

Well Jameson got ejected which was big and Roger shut down Metchie for a lot of the game.

Couldn’t agree more. Mason has pissed me off nearly as much as hobo this year.

There were a lot of things that went against bama in that game to keep us alive. Our D played well, but bama made mistakes as much as we shut them down at times. Probably 50/50.

The RB RObinson was their go to guy, and I don't think he was healthy. They were thin at RB, surprisingly w/ only Sanders to run the ball. Young had to throw 46 times)
I was there, and I remember their WRs dropping balls early and ofc our DL for some reason was constantly putting a lot of pressure on Young(7 sacks I believe).
But forth quarter our D basically was on fumes bc Alabama was getting warmed up moving the ball. And that last drive we had nothing left to be honest.
It didn't help that our offense like has done most of the 2nd half of the season, couldn't generate any drives forcing the D back on the field a lot..
Here are the number of plays in the 4th quarter alone each team ran..
Alabama- 7, 7, 7,12
Auburn - 1,6,3,1
This is probably the main reason we couldn't hold the fort against a very good offensive team and mostly bc of a Heisman QB named Young.

Or the safety for the holding or intentional grounding.

I agree with this. For much of the season we were rushing 3-4 guys and then dropping into zone. We were getting picked apart because we had a tough time pass rushing with linemen alone.
Against Bama: We have the beef/athletes up front to stop the run, which Cincy didn't. We also had an NFL caliber corner along with probably an NFL safety. I'm really proud of our D's performance in that game. Our offense only had 160 total yards which puts immense pressure on the defense - everyone gets gassed.
