Has Texas A&M’s football program ever been relevant on a national stage?

Their success or lack thereof is almost unbelievable if you happen to talk to an A&M grad or read some of their fan’s post on this board. I’ve never seen a fan base want to belong or be associated with the top programs in the country so bad when they haven’t won anything of relevance since their great grandparents were living.
- obviously never won an SEC Championship or even make an appearance
- Never played in a BCS bowl game
- All you can do is laugh but only 1 Big 12 Championship over 20 years ago
-fair to say A&M is the 4th best program in their own State if you consider modern day success
I think it’s safe to say A&M’s program is the definition of average. What a stale program.
Where would you rank A&M’s program historically when comparing to other teams in the country? Top 40 maybe?

I guess so. I work with an A&M grad and this dude acts like A&M is on par with Bama. Never seen anything like it. So I wanted to see WTH A&M has actually won and I was a little surprised if I’m being honest. But at least I shut up my coworker

Our trophy case looks very similar to Brian Kelly’s except without his greasy arse cheek prints all over it.

Build it and they will come. A&M might not have a trophy filled past, but thinking that we are complacent is just silly. Now will they come? Who knows, but I feel good about where A&M is headed. I also do not feel the need to convince anyone what I think the future holds for us. Let’s just let it play out.

I’ll rag on the Aggies football program at any expense. But as far as the topic at hand, yes they have been relevant on a national level. Their record in the 90s is quite impressive. Also, they have an AP national championship. Better than nothing.

How dare you talk about our presumptive runaway 2022 Pre Season National Champion this way? Especially when LSU has not even competed for a Pre Season National Championship since 2015.
