Glad he's gone.
quote:
“We recruited with no home base, no foundation of what we were looking for,” a former Florida staffer told me. “The prevailing idea from the top down was we’re not begging players to come here.”
quote:
“You know how many times I heard, ‘We’ll address that in the (transfer) portal,’” another former Florida staffer told me. “You’re the flagship university in the best state (for recruiting) in the country. You don’t need the portal for anything.”
quote:
"we were adding guys late that we probably shouldn’t have,” the former Florida staffer said. “We’d lose on guys, then scramble for Plan B’s that may have those stars, but that we knew didn’t make sense for us, and may not make it for one reason or another.”
Glad he's gone.

Good Lord.
Even with all of the shite-posting about the guy, it actually sounds like it was somehow worse than we thought.
What the heck was he thinking?

It’s wild he could have coached under Meyers and not gotten at least how to organize recruiting.

END of Chapter 1
Chapter 2 … Defensive Coordinators

He’d rather drink Bud Light Limes and wake board.

He didn’t recruit before going to Florida, what made y’all think that would change?

When you guys took our scraps on DL, I knew Mullen was done.

The working assumption was, he didn't recruit well at State because NOBODY could recruit well at State. We just assumed when he got to UF he'd finally be able to reel in those big fish he never could in Starkville. Turns out he's just a shitty recruiter.

Cam took 20k less to not play for Mullen

all of that looks strangely familiar. just need to add on "he checked out the last three weeks of the season to job hunt"

Dude always had his agent floating his name out there for NFL gigs.

Actually, you are right. He did not expect to still be at UF by this past year, so why bother building a program?

I said this so many damn years and oh MOT is trolling, etc.
But don’t listen.

It's arrogance. Like Chip Kelly, he believes so much in himself to scheme as a playcaller that he undervalued the talent available and was not/is not willing to put in the effort

Shame he couldn't get three more years to prove the system

Shame he had a god team last year then threw a shoe.

The only thing more timeless than lionizing the new coach is demonizing the old one.
