But I know who wasn't elite.
- Contain defense until the second half when everyone watching the game could see we needed to let Tindall and Dean hunt
- starting William Poole for I think the first time all year, yelling at him constantly
- Refusal to pull SBIV
- Running Zeus when James Cook or McIntosh should have been in for every play
- Going for it when you shouldn't, punting when you should go for it
- time outs in the pocket for no reason whatsoever
Not elite.

And, that's bad coaching right there.

Yup!!! Coaching has always been Kirby's problem. He can recruit, he can motivate, he can do all the things well, except game day coaching. I am not saying he is dog shite, but he is not elite tier in that aspect. Hope he finds it

Slap a kotex in it and a maxi on it.
Short of the sec title, all our goals are still there and frankily, i prefer playing Michigan anyway.

Headed into the half with all 3 TOs was mind-boggling to me

Counter point.
12-1 and in a 4 team playoff to win the ultimate goal..seems elite.
Who would you rather start at nickel? Poole got torched, but non Bama WR were torching Brini. Put Smith there and then you have Dan Jackson in the back half, which didn't work great either.
Was the right call to go for it down there. Should have also gone for it after the false start though, I agree with that.

Don't think we have anyone on the team than 1v1 Williams.
Is what it is
Is what it is

His responses in the post-game and playoff pressers were telling. Never said anything to suggest that the game plan itself or any in-game strategies could have been different... He mostly blamed execution or didn't give any real answers. Except of course when it came to the usual, "I have a lot of confidence in Stetson and I have a lot of confidence in JT." Lol

Guys, we blitzed 5&6 several times in the first half and they picked them up. It's not like we just sat back the entire time. Bama's O-Line came to play and they sacrificed their run game and worked the RB on picking up blitzes all week. It worked. Plain and simple
I agree with the rest of your points.

Yet Alabama wasn't able to do so all season against lesser competition than our "elite" D. They entered the game having given up 36 sacks. How is this explained?

I was focused on this when watching the game and strongly disagree with you. Most of the plays we got burned, we were going with a straight 4 man rush. When we did blitz, it was 90% of the time a single LB blitz up the middle which, as you said, was consistently picked up. At one point, we had two LBs standing around playing what appeared to be spy, leading to a wide open receiver in the flat that went for big yardage.
Halfway through the 3rd, we started bringing 6 when we blitzed and those blitzes were mixed up, often coming from the edges. It completely changed Young's accuracy when we were actually getting pressure on him quickly.

Yep. probably should have been airing it out similar to Florida against us right before the half. That's a proven method to success.
