And here’s the worst play in college football history. Though I can’t find a gif.

Not really the greatest offensive play. Maybe the greatest blown assignment by a defense.

#14 was matched up with man defense and got straight up beaten. Period. Was #24 supposed to rotate to safety high/double coverage?

Come to find out that ole #6 would do that to a lot of DBs

Getting beat deep in that situation in man defense is a blown assignment; especially for a guy who won a Thorpe. And yes, UGA was in man across the board with two safety’s deep, to make sure this this exact thing didn’t happen I’d say. Also a blown assignment.

Burrow would’ve had to duck a few defenders before uncorking it

Yeah we did that about 87 times in 2019 including one where JB’s pass was blocked and he caught it and threw it again.

My dad used to say, "looked like he was out to practice early."

Tua textbook looked #24 off on that play. [The safety] made the decision he thought was best given what he had to work with at the time.

I mean given that Baker was our “lockdown” corner I don’t blame the safety much because he did get looked off and ensuring the middle of the field is covered against the LBs in man coverage is a higher % call than knowing Smith would abuse a Thorpe winning corner. You can see the opposite field corner play bail coverage at the snap though. If Baker wanted to man up and try to lock down in that situation you absolutely can’t let this happen.

I suck with posting gifs so I'll just say I think it was Tommy Frazier saying frick off to the entire Florida defense as they tried to drag him down and he houses it.

I'd say a couple years hindsight of seeing what Smith was capable of doing to people sort of helps here.
