The two together? LSU certainly isn't the only team that has offered up its arse for Saban to pound. If we're going to give LSU credit for being Saban's whipping boy 12 out of the last 15 games, don't we have to also credit Atrkansas and Mississippi State?

Because Spurrier didn’t dominate the 90s. Guess that’s not in the coloring books LSU issues?

If it happened before he was born, it's must be an unverifiable rumor.

Yes. You gumps don't get it do you. If LSU had never hired Saban to the SEC and won his first title at LSU championship the odds are favorably heavy that you guys at Alabama would never have heard of him and in the short run hired him to make Bama what it is today. Lot of people on here that are showing their lack of comprehension.

Nick Saban was well known and highly respected before he came to LSU. Most thought he would go back to the NFL after Michigan State.

While what Nick Saban has done at Alabama won't be replicated again, Alabama took Nick Saban from a great coach to the Greatest of All-time.

He had success at LSU, but I watched Franchoine beat his arse 31-0 and then talk shite to him at midfield afterwards.

Alabama transformed him into what you see today.

Mostly you. You are a stepping stone, not a destination.

Nick and Ms Terry think he would've had the same success had he stayed at LSU or more, simply because of longevity.

I can't disagree with them

The problem with that theory it's not based on anything tangible. We have seen multiple coaches at Alabama dominate the SEC.

We even saw Gene Stallings go on a 28 game win streak. Most would say he is the 5th best coach in program history.

We have yet to see sustained dominance at LSU from any coaches.

Good God, a man takes a sabbatical from this board for a while and when he returns he is absolutely NOT shocked how nutty LSU fans continue to act.

Saban was hardly unknown when LSU hired him. Or at least not to people who follow college and pro football. Even while at Michigan State, he was regarded as one of the best young coaches in the game.
