Of shite..OU should sue him for every penny of this years salary and for damages. He's obviously known he was going to USC for quite some time. His recruiting tactics are among the worst I've ever seen. It costs a fortune to recruit players and Lincoln Riley should be held financially responsible for the cost of every decommitted recruit. This has cost them an entire recruiting class, a stacked recruiting class at that. Let me be clear I'm not an OU fan but holy hell.

Kids should have committed to the school not the coach, but with the logic you’re spitting, the opposite must hold then, if OU poaches a big name coach, that coach shouldn’t accept any recruits from whichever school gets poached, he shouldn’t leave until the season is officially over, etc etc, it’s a business, it sucks but we’ve all been poached before, hell, Sark poached your OL coach and ST coach last year, you think LSU is going to turn away any commits that want in with BK in BR? Nope, I expect if OU gets a Brent V, a few Clemson commits to follow, which is par for the course, you gonna call OU unethical if that happens too?

How many recruits/players are USC bound from OU?

I’d say clearly true for the Cali kids he recruited at OU that are now joining him.

I’d be curious to know when the deal was actually made. It appears this was done a lot earlier than a few weeks ago. If he was using OK resources to purposely recruit for another school then I’d be pretty pissed off.

It's wild how many of Oklahoma's players/recruits are only their for Riley. None of em got loyalty.
Didn't even bother waiting to see who Oklahoma hires to replace him.

A lot of people disagree with you, but I understand what you are saying....and somewhat agree.
Riley went out and purposely targeted a lot of players from California with what appears to be the intent to go to USC all along, using Oklahoma's money, efforts and time to recruit for USC.
Proving that is what happened is another story, though. They (Oklahoma) do seem to have an abnormally large group of players following the coach to his new school.
It appears as if Riley did not want to start from scratch recruiting once he got to USC. He can look at the class committed to USC now and tell the players he does not want to look elsewhere, and then bring in the players he recruited to Oklahoma to USC with him.

I think 4-5 have announce so far. Some from the 2022 class and 1 or 2 from the 2023 class.

Yeah. Some 5* and 4*...RBs, QB's,....al from California.
Kobie McKenzie (2022 4* LB)
Treyaun Webb (2023 4*)
Brandon iniss (2023 5* WR)
Malachi Nelson (2023 5* QB)
Raleek Brown (2022 5* RB)
Demetrius Hunter (2022 OL 4*)
Derrick Moore (2022 4* DL)
Makai Lemon (Ath 5* 2023)
So it is more like 8 commits lost.

I genuinely hope Lincoln Riley and the staff that left with him all get incurable flaming gonorrhea of both the mouth and crotchel region.

It’s rough up here right now, but I remain optimistic. We’ve had decomits from 2022 and 2023, we’ve got some guys in the transfer portal. However, I’m not overly concerned about the guys in the portal to this point. They are all highly rated guys, but guys that didn’t do much this year. Also, none of the portal guys seem to be heading to USC. It is my belief that there is a good chance that the new head coach will bring a few transfers with him aswell. I liked Riley and he was getting some highly recruited guys, but I also felt that the product that he was putting on the field had regressed year after year. This gives us an opportunity to get a guy in here with a focus on defense. Which IMO is what we’ll need making the move to the SEC

Teams will fire coaches whenever they want. Players will leave schools now whenever they want. I have no problem with coaches leaving when they want

Given that the better recruits are highly recruited by a lot of highly esteemed schools I don't think it's a surprise. The school is a big part of the recruiting process but the head coach is essential.
The early signing date and transfer options are what created the coaching movement at the end of November. Otherwise BK, LR, and Napier would be coaching their prior teams through the bowl season.
