Yeah, every team not playing in the championship series will deal with it. But, the teams on the field during bowl season are not very representative of what the teams had throughout the year.
If your not going to be there for your teammates all year long, get the f#$k out.
As a coach I would not allow a player that bailed on his team at any part of the season to ever be down on the field after their career.

The college football game is nothing more than the minor leagues for the NFL and every NFL prospect in college has never thought of college ball as anything else.

If I were an NFL GM, any player who quits on his team is docked a draft letter grade.

Players have no loyalty to any school anymore. It’s all about getting theirs.

Have u seen bowl attendance? It’s basically an exhibition game to many upper classman. They play big time games all year with stadiums sold out and filled with energy. They need to quit watering down bowl season. 4+ losses should mean no bowl.

Idk, I think a lot of the players view the bowls as meaningless exhibitions. Give the younger guys some experience and don't risk injury.

Not even close to true.

imo, the playoff format has ruined bowl season. Bowls are meaningless, outside of the CFP.
Players sit out, fans don't attend like years past, ratings have plummeted and even the swag bags are mediocre these days.

With the "sitting out"mentality creeping into college ball it won't be long before we see players quitting on their team after nine or ten games, if no national championship is on the line, in order to protect their health for the pros. You just watch in two or three years. It's coming.

You’d be an awful GM then

This is a good case for expansion of the playoff teams to 8. It would keep players on rosters throughout the playoffs.

You have zero knowledge the commitment it takes to play at this level. These guys bust their asses, in class, in the weight room, at practice every damn day, just for you to cheer a couple of hours each week. They are much more committed than you are.
So, now in the biggest decision of their lives, you tell them to frick off, when they have 90 days to prepare for an NFL combine that will determine their draft slot which means 1st round guaranteed millions of dollars or falling like a rock in the draft and not making much $$$. Go look at the difference the top 10 of the draft make compared to the bottom 10 of the first. Or how about dropping to the 2nd or 3rd round? A poor 40 time or bad cone shuttle can create questions and drop you dozen places in the draft. These guys gave much more to the University than you will ever give. They need to now focus on the next level, if they can get there. They don't owe you or anyone a thing. Fans should say good luck but most are ungrateful pricks like you. You are the selfish one, not the players.

Are you one of those perpetually offended people?

and how exactly should they be more loyal? Should they be more loyal than you or any other student? Should they practice more? Spend more time in the weight room? Donate more time or money? how loyal is the school once the player leaves? I'll give you a hint. Once your eligibility is up, the program has ZERO use for you. Do you think the fans will setup a fund for a player that is struggling financially (and many of them do)? Do they even care enough to find out all these struggling ex-players? Hell no. Stop the nonsense about loyalty.
Many years later from playing at UF, I have back and neck problems (right arm numbness from my shoulder to my finger tips as I'm typing right now). Blurred vision and short term memory loss from concussions. Ankle and knee problems as well. How much has UF paid for my medical issues? Zero. Does the university owe me anything? No. but I damn sure don't owe the school a thing.

You just showed the world why you don't have the mental or psychological makeup to be an NFL GM
NFL GMs main job is to acquire TALENT, acting like an emotional, small minded ,petty, revenge seeking whiny bitch isn't part of the job description
With your azzhole mentality you would have docked Christian McCaffrey a grade and possibly lost him to an opposing team
It ain't the GMs job to offload his prejudices on players coming out of college, simply acquire the most talent for your Owner & HC and stay the fvck outta the way

If everyone agrees that for the most part, bowl season is now an exhibition season, with the exception of the championship series, don't use the bowl results to compare conferences or make stupid comparisons post season.

This.
Postseason going well?
“These bowl results prove the SEC is the absolutely most dominant conference to ever play football.”
Going poorly?
“Half our guys weren’t even playing and the rest didn’t give a damn about the game anyway.”
Pick one.

Bowl games have been meaningless since the creation of a National Championship long before the CFP.
