SEC teams aren't the only schools with players sitting out or not giving a damn.

That further makes the point. As SEC fans we need to pick an option. Either the bowl games matter or they don’t. Can’t have it both ways.

I would LOVE to see the level of coaching, nutrition, facilities,S&C and medical treatment.Hint:the kids in
college live like Kings compared to the vast majority of any so called minor league system.

What a crock of shyt

Living like Kings?

Kings levy taxes on the masses to live like a King, a Title they inherited by birthright

P5 revenue athletes usually start working on their craft at age 6 or 7 and by the time you see them on ESPN they've invested A DOZEN YEARS of hard fvcking work to get where they are

Living like Kings?

When you're doing the heavy lifting and generating the Millions for the Athl Dept to take care of everyone else financially EXCEPT the revenue generators, then that ain't living like a King, IT'S CALLED GETTING WHAT THE FVCK YOU DESERVE, and the truth is, the revenue generators deserve even more than they get, not from NIL but from the Athl Dept revenues they generate

It's about time we get the rest of the College Sports off of welfare and require them to be break-even financially instead of relying on FB & MBB for survival

"Living like a King" might be the most delusional azzhole remark in the history of message boards

The the fact that big name NFL prospects routinely decline to participate in non playoff bowl games supports my contention.

Meanwhile, all you have to support YOUR position is . . . your opinion.

The biggest misconception most casual fans have is that every college football player will make it to the NFL and have a long lengthy career. The facts are less than 1 percent will every make an NFL roster and most will play less than 3 years. The players sitting out of these games have a long road ahead of them to make it at the next level. Most of them will be done with their careers in the next 3 years. Think about that. Something they've prepared their entire lives, the only thing they thought about doing will be over before they really got started. It's sad.

I can tell you countless sad stories of players that most fans think of as heroes but none of them saw the players struggles. They didn't get the big contract and even if they did, they couldn't make it last a lifetime. When I first got to school, I became good friends with one of the older players that was one of the best players on the team. Here's some of his accomplishments.

First-team All-SEC (1984, 1985)
First-team All-American (1984, 1985)
Second-team Florida Gators All-Century Team
Florida's All-Time Team
University of Florida Athletic Hall of Fame

He was a sure 1st rounder until some rumors floated about his combine. He dropped to the 2nd round. He ended up starting 9 NFL games and a total of 18 games in 2 seasons. He was out of the league before I graduated. 4 other guys I played with were also out of the league before I graduated. Guys that had crazy talent and are Gator greats. Didn't do much at the next level.

I can tell you some sob stories of ex teammates who went homeless, had to work in soup kitchens, etc. It is not pretty.

They "NY6" Bowls don't have anymore significance than the weed eater bowl or the SEC Rant Bowl. "New Year 6" is just a name manufactured by ESPN to get gullible fans into believing that the game is somehow more important than the other bowls. ESPN makes more money off of the NY6 bowls that's it.

There are also several hundred bowl games. Did your team break even? In the MEAC? Welcome to the PapaJimmyJohnsJohnson&Johnson Pizza Flavored BandAid Bowl. It’s a continuation of the everyone gets a trophy mindset we’ve adopted. They’ve become meaningless

And many don’t. Have you ever even watched an NFL game where guys do their own intro and make a big deal about the school they went to? Professional players tweeting and trash talking about big games their alma maters are playing. On the sidelines of their former schools cheering on the team? If you have eyes and ears your take is asinine. There are many NFL players who gave and give a shite about the college game and the schools they went to.

And again, the fact that those prospects play in the playoffs is 100% proof that they absolutely do care about the college game and their schools. Or can they not get injured in those games?

Who cares. If it were my kid, I’d advise them to sit. They don’t owe you or anyone else anything.
