From the story:
This town of 1,300 or so is in the county where I live. I drive through it all the time.
This “Academy” doesn’t exist. The ‘stadium’ described in the story does not exist. I found no business entity under this name registered at the Alabama Secretary of State’s office. The only thing close is a dissolved ‘future prospects academy’ which is a tiny metal building about the size of a convenience store across the road from the end of the airport runway.
The stadium described is what the city of Wetumpka is building a few miles down the road for the 6A Wetumpka High School team to use.
At best, this is someone’s fantasy pipe dream like the various people that claim to be working on a new NCAA football game. More than likely it is an intentional scam - meaning Rush will fit right in.
The one thing you can count on is that he will never coach a game for this ‘team’.

Is this one of the prep schools that takes HS grads and promises to help them make a college football team? All you need to do is give them your Pell Grant money etc, and then they feed you bologna and spam surprise at the nutrition bar?
