I personally am a Daniels fan. The guy can throw any throw and has great mobility.

Bama wants Taulia back

Saturday's game at Faurot is a must-see if you like good QB play. If you like good pass defense, not so much.

A. There are too many different QB ratings at this point and none of them seem to align.

B. There's no way you can slice it to where Graham Mertz had a better game than Jackson Dart.

This isn't a statistic, it's a grading system which is definitely different than all the QB "ratings" from stats that are done. QB Ratings/passer rating/QBR are all stat based metrics. This is basically a grade of every snap the player plays which is different.

For example a screen play that gets taken 80 yards to the house makes a QB look great in statistical measures even if they did basically nothing other than deliver a very easy high percentage pass. In a grading system you dont get much credit for that as a QB.

I understand the various QBR's and what they measure. There are dozens of different ones. For example, I think the ESPN one had Dart below Carson Beck but a few points above Mertz. It gave Milroe the highest of the week.

I didn't realize moral victories were something the UF has prided themselves on now. My how the once mighty have fallen.

And still lost by 19.

So, is “Graham Mertz is the most improved QB in the country” the narrative now that UF’s defense sucks again?

Looking things up on PFF, Mertz throws a gigantic amount of passes behind the LOS, a.k.a screen plays. Almost 1/3 of his passes have had a depth of target or 0 yards or less this season (32.6%). His average depth of target for ALL throws is an SEC low 6.6 yards of the 15 main QBs from this season (1 from each team with 2 from A&M). Daniels, Jefferson, Weigman, Dart, Leary, Swann and Milroe all have an average depth of target for all throws of 10+ for example.

They definitely are being very safe with him giving him a lot of easy throws. Which while makes his completion percentage look sky high, hasnt exactly equated to doing much of anything to help the offense much. Maybe UF finally puts up 30+ for the first time this season against an FBS team against Vandy at home this weekend
