I cannot say I thought the crowd was weak because I was on the couch from 11a to 11p

But I did notice the game gave the crowd no reason to stay loud.

Not only are the digital tickets a pain in the arse, I had to deal with two sets of people that bought the same tickets through Stubhub and both of them had proof. I had to take them to the ticket office in the stadium to resolve the issue (I think they ended up giving one group different seats) but talk about a complete cluster frick.

See, I don't even care!

I was counting 05,10, 13 and 17. ( They got us in the rematch )

Don’t forget all the changes to tailgating have made it hard to get anywhere near the stadium. I think that makes people stay at home where 20 people can cook and eat and watch games on giant TVs with replay and yesterday I had 3 TVs watching great games while ours was on and heading downhill fast.

After saying that I love the atmosphere and if things get better like I believe they will the crowds will get bigger and better. We just need the recruiting to go the right way to dig us out of the Gus hole.

I was there and think the crowd wanted to get into it but didn't trust Bo to deliver after missing the easy touchdown in the first drive and also at the half. Seemed to be waiting for the inevitable.

I was there & I thought it was pretty subdued as well. I even texted my kids in the student section to tell them they're bringing it week. If I can hear the GA QB clap on any play from the upper deck, that's just wrong.

A&M-UAT was one of the few fully packed stadiums I have seen this year. 15 years ago almost any SEC vs SEC game was packed. It is a 3 hour game involving a bunch of 20 year olds, and you can see why a family of four might not want to spend 800 dollars just to get in the door. Many of the old-timers (over 45 or so) that would never miss a game, are now choosing to stay home. In general, I get the feeling that most of those under 30 could care less where they watch it.

We are a pretty boring team to watch. Very few big plays. More methodical offensively. Very few big plays on defense. We tackle pretty well overall but we don't have huge hits or huge stops and few sacks.

That's me. They have priced me out of going. Plus the quality of the lower level SEC teams are much higher then they used to be. You used to know Vandy, UK, SC, Arky, MSU, Ole Miss were generally always gonna be bad and more then likely a couple of them horrible. Now 5 of those 6 can challenge almost every team any weekend in the conference so sitting on your couch watching another quality conference game makes it staying home much easier.

this is it man. i really think this is the biggest deterrent.

say you live in bham, on top of the $800 tix, you gotta factor in 4-5 hours of drive time, parking money, gas money, food money, beverage money, etc. at the end of the day you're looking at a $1000 8-12 hour investment for a family. that's a lot of time and money especially for a losing team.

the alternative is stay at home, spend max $100 on the food/drinks you want, go to the bathroom when you want, sit in your own chair, watch as many games as you want, and still get the rest of your saturday to take care of things or just relax.

I agree that staying home is much more appealing when looking at that, but was it that much cheaper for big games 10, 15, and 20 years ago when every SEC game was a sure thing sellout?

yes I had season tickets for years and that was before you had to pay Tigers Unlimited just to be able to purchase tickets.

I had lower bowl endzone tickets generally and would always purchase 1 away game ticket and it was about 500-600 per season. Plus there were plenty of places around Auburn to eat for less then $10 with quality food.
