Seems to me Harsin recognizes his faults and comes to grips with them. That is refreshing to me.
Did Gus ever do that? I don't know because I just couldn't make it through a full press conference with him. I tried but he said the same damn thing every time. It was like watching paint dry.

Saban is not a micromanager.
Saban may not micromanage the entire program, but you can bet your house he is giving the OK to every scholarship offer.
They're too valuable to him winning championships not to. Now he isn't going out and scouting every guy. He lets his team do that and they bring him the information. But yeah, he is signing off on every scholly.

Check the podcast, I’m referring to how the word is used in the reference of the podcast.

I believe Saban has a spec and every player has to meet that spec.
Honestly though, it is not hard to believe he has not met and interviewed every player before they have committed.
There is only 25 players/ yr and they have been recruiting guys for years

I realize that I was suggesting the nature by which it was described Gus basically picked every offensive recruit himself.

I don’t understand why we even care at this point. We fired Gus. We got a good coach as far as everyone is concerned. We worry about the recruiting in the south East for some of these new coaches but who cares what Gus did compared to Harsin. Show me on the field.

Moving forward we can judge whether players meet or exceed their recruiting expectations.
Recruiting is more scientific than ever today, but you still need to find the Daniel Thomas’s late that can become a full time SEC starter.
Development is so crucial. Teaching the game and having the players understand how all the pieces coherently function together is paramount. Guys have to adjust on the fly.
An odd front can become even very quickly. Offensive linemen have to understand all 5 positions and all the responsibilities.

I get that I’m talking all the bitching about the blocking schemes and such of Gus to Harsin. Why care at this point what Gus did. That’s part of the reason the fans hated him so why not move on to what the next coach does not what the prior coach did. So in my opinion you give the new coach a grace period or you don’t. Shouldn’t have anything to do with the prior staff. If you thought next year was going to be 8-4 and you thought the coaches was the issue then next year should be 9-3 or better. In my opinion Auburn is very far from a rebuilding job. There is talent all over the roster. So which way is it? Gus ruined the program for the next 3 years or nah? Just need to know the expectations I need to hear for the foreseeable future.

I think it takes 2 seasons to see if the program is moving in the right direction.
I certainly did not think we were moving in the right direction in 2018,2019, or 2020.
Let’s see where we are after 2022.
I think CBH will win the division within 3 years.
