Why wouldn't you fire Gus?

Losing our Dline and Oline looking at 7-8 wins next year MAX. Joey is transferring and we're overloaded with HS coaches.

Yes it would suck to lose Garner Twill and Steele but what are the other positives if any of keeping Gus another season?

I love these posts. All they offer is a “fire the coach” option, with no resolution. Who is coming here that’s better than Gus? What’s your plan to get them here to play Kirby and Saban every year? Don’t throw this shite out there without a fricking answer.

He's basically Mark Richt, but two losses per season worse.

He needs to go. But it's not all on him. It's inexcusable that AU hasn't beaten LSU at Tiger stadium in 20 fricking years. No other SEC team has this problem.

Besides that, our offense is terrible and that's on Gus. If I were Steele, I'd be pissed.

And Nix, sadly, looks to be another 5 star bust for us. But it's hard to tell whether it's him or Gus, so maybe I'm being unfair. All I know is he looks bad and misses tons of throws.

Anyone who can win more than 8 games a year and anyone who has a competent grasp of offensive football.

PJ Fleck, Mike Norvell, Josh Heupel to name a few, would all be upgrades.

I say we just 8-5 this shite through end of 2020 and see if some hot up and comer is worth taking a chance on. I don’t know any coach that would come in and do well next year with overhauls on the O and D lines. May as well let that buyout drop some, ride out the crap, then go looking.

ETA: to be fair, the O line overhaul probably won’t be a big negative impact.

1) We are going to win 9 or 10 games with the toughest schedule in the country
2) This loss was on Bo Nix. Guy couldn’t get in any rhythm and complete basic passing options that were there for him.
3) I don’t fire coaches because they held a Heisman contender and NC contender to their lowest point total of the season and was very competitive
4) I don’t fire somebody for something you assume they will do in the future.
5) I don’t agree that replacing the weakest part of our offense, while bringing back a talented QB with a lot more experience and all of his weapons, plus way more running options = definitely worse
6) I am mad that we loss, but I don’t instantly feel better by yelling Fire Gus

Do you really want to know? Bill Clark would be better than this clown show on offense.

Our two losses are away against top 7 teams in the country. I know our offense looks awful, but we all knew our schedule was brutal coming into the season. We're starting a true freshman.

Prediction: Nix looks great against UGA and Bama.

Bill Clark

Change the scheme entirely. This is a ridiculous mindset to have. You pay someone for a jolt. We have been living groundhog day for 7 years.

i'm sorry you don't see that

I think the DC we played against tonight, Aranda, would do well taking Gus's spot.

I see post like yours often... "who can't do better"

We aren't asking for Belichek or someone to hang the moon. We want to compete against our rivals or hell at least lose in respectable fashion. Gus has ruined 5 QBs and wasted some damn good defenses. I would rather pay someone 2 million a year to win 8 games then keep paying Gus 6 million to win 9 games.

what in the world makes you think Nix will look great against other top tier / better competition?

And it's not just Nix. It's mainly Gus

Nix’s true freshman season was Gus’s sacrificial lamb. I think that much is obvious.

Same excuses every year while we get shite on by a literal bumbling shrimp boat captain.

Yeah, they're #2 in the country. They're better than us. That's the point

If that was the case then we certainly need to fire Gus cause Nix is fricking terrible.

He may be the worst freshman QB in the SEC. If that is on Gus, he needs to be fired tonight cause Nix cant hit the side of a barn and his decision making is total shite
