If you think Cohen is the only one knowing what we are going to do, you are sorely wrong. It may ultimately be his decision, but we had an AD go rogue and it went horribly wrong. The money won't let that happen again.

My point is that we shouldn't hire Sumrall.

Jimbo is imminent.

We needed to fire Freeze, but the thing about the interim period is we are all now in speculation purgatory due to over analyzing possible candidates.

Case in point is three weeks ago Sumrall was who a majority potentially wanted. Yet after three weeks of over analysis he’s largely considered the safety net pick people would be disappointed with.

Maybe this is a good thing- we get a jump on the pros and cons- but it seems like it is just setting us up for months of “I told you so” next fall.

I think the majority feel that most of the candidates would be somewhat disappointing because while (most) have upside none have enough upside to counter the unknown potential downside.

I go back to my comment last week- we will probably be underwhelmed and spend the next ten months talking ourselves into believing the hire will be able to deliver.

Are you going to melt until they announce our next Pat Dye (Jon Sumrall)?

Sumrall is a really hard name for finding nicknames.
