I don't think RPO was the problem as much as Hugh Freeze wasn't creative in using the RPO to take advantage of his players. He was also terrible at game day playcalling. The Vandy game showed that
We need Dilly Dilly if we are going offense side. If it's defense side, just keep Durkin and go make an OC highly paid.

Don't be blind. It's the same group around the Troy area that wants "ownership" of Auburn football. Again, why do you think Charles Kelly even gets one ounce of attention. Let Sumrall go prove himself at Arkansas. Putting together a staff from nothing is an impossible task. Neal Brown and Joe Craddock - are you joking? No 5 star QB said ever Neal Brown and Joe Craddock will get me to the NFL. Do you ever want to see and NFL tight end at Auburn again? Do you ever want to see an NFL offensive line?

I like the cut of your jib

Only reason he’s on our list is because he’s from Alabama and PTB can get the band back together.

I'd be happy with that. Doesn't look like it will happen; Dilly said he's going to be coaching at ASU next year after today's game.

I'm keeping an eye on the score, hoping that this will permanently remove his name from consideration. Hiring Charles Kelly to coach at Auburn is like ripping a wet fart at a job interview.

Charles Kelly is pouring it on now. 22-7 over Kennessaw State.

Glad to have a candidate coach for the job he deserves.

Since Jeremy Pruitt is an analyst for him can we pull him as DC???

I'm just a fan who watches football from the comfort of my home. That being said, this is a bad year to be coach shopping. Even Kiffin looks like shite.

At the end of the day, and seeing what we've all seen. At least with Durkin we saw massive improvement with our offense in just one week. Next two games, he's interviewing for the permanent job. I'd be wary of pulling the trigger on the next guy that other schools are gunning for. All the names being passed around aren't exactly head turners, especially after seeing how some of them struggled today.

The hottest name out there, is struggling at home against a team that has an interim coach and trying to hire him.

I think Jacksonville State had to sign an agreement that if Pruitt was hired, they understood that they would be subjected to increased scrutiny.

We've entered a new era of CFB with few proven elite HCs. I don't the next few cycles will be drastically different from this one. Numerous schools trying to find the next big coach.

Almost, and still has an empty trophy case......well except for his conference trophy in whatever conference FAU is in.

We have a good idea in what we have with Durkin. We could do a lot worse. For fricks sake, we looked like a completely different team with Nix calling the offense last week! Instead of looking at an up and comer for HC, maybe we should just promote the guy we've got, who all the player love, and go get an up and comer OC? We have the talent to build on right now. Bring in someone else, and those guys probably leave if Durkin isn't retained, And we all know a new HC rarely keeps a coordinator from the old staff.

Goose you realize this was all Derrick Nix, not DJD. Honestly the way Nix called that game, I’d rather have him than Troy-boy next year. At least he knows the big stage!
