To be fair a MOU (memorandum of understanding) is not uncommon in the interim when you are finalizing a contract and some details cannot be completed. For example, the buyout on his contract is X amount, declining with each season. Well how is "season" defined? End of regular season or end of playoff season? You have to know the specifics to put a specific dollar amount in a contract, and you cant exactly call Tulane in the middle of discussions and ask them.

It usually has financial hooks in them as well. You cant just "walk away" without ramifications.

I believe this is what happened and he will announce tomorrow. You guys think he wants to enter that mess down there in Florida, for goodness sake its called "the swamp" for a reason

I'm with you, if it's Durkin I'm done. I love Auburn Gootball too much to watch it become a laughing stock. The mismanagement and egos of rich assholes will completely destroy this program. If it's Durkin it will get worse, and it might never get better. Can't watch it anymore

Could the National Media please do a story on how meddlesome the Florida boosters are, and how nobody wants to go there because of misalignment?

Want a kick in the head.....

Pat Dye's highest salary, after winning 4 SEC championships (and a national title), adjusted for inflation would be 936,000 in today's dollars.

In additon, he was also the athletic director for which Cohen is paid 1.5 million per year.

In the words of agents....my job is pillaging the coffers of schools....and bidniz is good.....

If it is true that certain staff members are being forced on him by the AD why would he want that? If Cohen went and offered th AHC and DC job to Durkin without his knowledge and denying him the opportunity to interview candidates why would he want to work for an AD that would do that?

No, because the national media isn’t paid to carry water for Florida’s rivals like they are for ours.

So we can back away from the ledge for the moment?

I’m just worried about how salvageable the relationship is now if he does come.

FWIW Arkansas fans have been melting pretty hard too.

Potential melts currently loading for LSU and Ole Miss fans.

What we have here is a good old-fashioned SEC melt-off.
