More proof it’s a roster composition problem than a coaching problem. I’m not trying to defend Steven because obviously every first year coaches are going to have questions about them and growing pains. Some great coordinator and assistants aren’t built for the hot seat. Nothing Steven has done has shown me he isn’t ready as a head coach yet. I’m not there.

I figured you would love Steven because he uses timeouts unlike your complaints about Bruce.

That's being a bit obtuse to use that to claim the roster is Steven's. That's like saying the football roster was Will Redmond's.

I don't think it is a valid argument to say it isn't his roster at all either, but it is just as inaccurate to say it is completely his roster.

But it's not obtuse to claim the roster isnt Steven's?

GMAFB. He recruited all these dudes and knew what he was getting

That’s why I say Steven should get 3 years

He can have a second year but I'm not ready to guarantee 3. Next year if we are less talented and are still having behavioral problems I'm not prepared to give him a pass. Part of coaching at this level is managing personalities and in that regard Steven is really struggling to keep the team on the same page.

That’s right. We’ll start getting a feel by May if he is progressing in his role as the HC, and next yr will be pivotal!

I must have missed you calling Corch's statement "obtuse."

Nope doesn't appear I did.

Bruce heavily deferred evaluations and scouting to Steven. Will had no such power. Dont be obtuse.

OK, so why not have faith in all those past roster/recruiting decisions as the norm and this year as the inevitable off-year?

Faith is earned.

Think about why Miles Kelly joined and so many dudes stuck around. They believed in the team.

That's my point: he has a long history of strong recruiting instincts.

Sure but he was recruiting players that wanted to be coached by Bruce's proven know-how

We know little about Pearl and how he has holistically effected Auburn basketball.

The hilarious part is we are having this conversation while Pearl's leading scorer is suspended indefinitely, bashir and magwood are already wrote off, and his players aren't playing hard for him on defense.

I know I dont sound tone-deaf...

Basketball, three examples:

Tahaad (January 2026) Disciplinary Action, did not start due to failure to meet our teams standards and Expectations (Coaches Decision)

Keaden Magwood (Has not played in a month)

Keshawn Hall (Who knows).

One is a player issue, even 2, but we are up to 3. The coach has to take some responsibility.

Right. Eventually Pearl is going to have to sell his program, his charisma, his know how because it's now solely his baby in the water.

I get punishing the kid, but this is kinda bullshite. He’s not going to be on the team next year. So kick him off the team, or let him play to get some tape.

Why can’t nil money be taken away instead of bench time?

What? Are college sports teams just a platform now?

Some of you people are losing your minds.
