Here is how I see it:

QB: will be much improved
OL: can’t be much worse than this year, even with five new starters
RB - all should return
WR - Our best WRs return
K - should be better. Carlson has had an off year
P - should be better but he has been solid all year
DL - HUGE drop off but we shouldn’t be terrible there right?
LB - should all return and be better
DB - we have some elite players that should be really good next year even with or other guys leaving like Tutt, Sherwood, etc...

8-4 or 7-5 if Gus gets cute.

You forgot the most important one. The head coach. Here, I will finish it for you.

QB: will be much improved
OL: can’t be much worse than this year, even with five new starters
RB - all should return
WR - Our best WRs return
K - should be better. Carlson has had an off year
P - should be better but he has been solid all year

DB - we have some elite players that should be really good next year even with or other guys leaving like Tutt, Sherwood, etc...
Head Coach: will return. No improvement. Can't beat anyone with a pulse. Functionally retarded. Picks nose a lot. Always has a stupid look on his face. Can't make adjustments. Is the textbook definition of insanity. Being prepared and game planning your team's strengths and weaknesses are not possible is his clown world. In other words, the 9 positions I just typed above mean absolutely nothing if this clown is on the Auburn sideline.

Ha, fair enough. Won’t disagree with that.

Really hope Truesdale and Big Kat Bryant return next year. Coe would be huge be given what I have heard about him this year something tells me that doesn’t happen.

We play hard teams.

Maybe we can score 21 points against one next year.

Why do you think Bo will be better next year with Gus coaching him? Gus has never improved a qb in year two.

How would you rate these in importance to going to the CFP? (I kept your thoughts)

1 - QB: will be much improved
3 - OL: can’t be much worse than this year, even with five new starters
7 - RB - all should return
5 - WR - Our best WRs return
8 - K - should be better. Carlson has had an off year
9 - P - should be better but he has been solid all year
2 - DL - HUGE drop off but we shouldn’t be terrible there right?
6 - LB - should all return and be better
4 - DB - we have some elite players that should be really good next year even with or other guys leaving like Tutt, Sherwood, etc...

# 2 takes a huge hit, and # 3 may or may not be better. #1 is a question mark. It's Auburn, 14-1 or 6-6.

The data actually says he will regress.

Same coach with players that couldn't beat out the current bunch.

Marshall is the ONLY QB coached by Gus, that marginally improved from one season to the next. Keep in mind, he was recruited as a DB out of HS.

That's equivalent to me be a better chess player the 2nd time I ever played, over the first.

If we are being honest with ourselves this is hopeful, at best.

Dennis Dodd
@dennisdoddcbs
New numbers out from @PFF. Auburn leads country in PBE (pass blocking efficiency). Ohio St 32nd, Penn State 51st, Florida 107th. @GeorgiaFootball
LT Andrew Thomas most dominant OL.

I wonder how much of that is skewed from Nix just being good at avoiding pressure and throwing the ball away
