Robbie has talent in him, we saw flashes of it last season - with an improved line and a better team around him I hope he'll do well

frick it (sorry Lanier baw) I'm on the Ashford train, sign me up

Also remember the coaching Ashford had last year. Harsin & Co. phoned in recruiting, and from what I saw on the field, they phoned in coaching too! If Freeze can take a guy like Willis, and put him in the NFL...

Hugh has made it abundantly clear that he isn’t satisfied with the QB room and is planning on bringing in another guy, plus he said the most important trait a QB has to have is accuracy.

Honestly, if Hugh has a better option available from the portal, I’ll be happy with that. May is coming soon so I’m hoping after he sees results from spring camp, he can look for a guy - I’m thinking that’s why he hasn’t taken a QB yet

Just gonna say if Robbie is QB1 and Hugh seems content with that then y’all should just ride with it. He’s been happy since Hugh was hired and has made strides from the few Twitter clips I’ve seen, he’s putting in work

Jury's still out on the QB stable at hand and Hugh will figure it out in about six weeks.

After that it'll be interesting to see which WR he can convince. That should be telling.

Obviously we will know what the staff thinks about our QBs once the portal opens up and there are a few who didn't make the cut and decided to transfer. It will be interesting to see if McCall can transfer. It will also be interesting to see who comes out on top this spring.

I know folks think it will be Ashford because of his legs but I think Holden might be the better passer and if he asserts himself it might just be him. we will know after a few practices what the rumor mill will bring...

My prediction coming out of spring is…

Holden
TJ
Ashford

TJ will transfer. We will go after a transfer QB. We went after the 2 quality QBs that were options in McCall and Leary.

Hugh has basically already said it. Need 1 QB, 1 WR, 1 LB, 1 IOL

Why sign up for a losing proposition. Ashford is NOT an SEC caliber Qb. He is a bench rider who got thrown into the fire bc TJ Finley was all we had.

Time to get on the Downtown Hank Brown train instead

1 great pass cancels out 10 very poorly thrown easy passes. This is common knowledge Lanier.

I had forgotten the formula. Thanks...

But he still needs to thrown about 10 more great passes to get back to even

That’s probably the stupidest thing you’ve said while on this board. I will no longer defend you regarding your real bet with BLZR and we are through.

I think it was around the 3rd or 4th time Robbie ran out of bounds a few yards behind the line of scrimmage that I started questioning his ability to play qb at a high level. I can see him making that mistake once or twice but he did it at least 10 times last season. He ain't it

It is a big part of my feelings on him. He does not seem to learn from his mistakes...

I also think he is a highly emotional person which isn't what you want in your QB or at least have control over them to be the killer you need on the field...

I know right? Tebow was terrible at Florida. Cam was awful for us. They were just too emotional!

I think the word we're looking for is immature.
Please don't use Ashford's name in the same sentence as Tebow and Cam. Lordy Jesus.

How many times did you see them go over an pout on the sidelines? If Ashford was like them, no one would care. He isn't. Thus comments about the QB room growing up. Tebow & Cam were emotional but controlled while on the field a lot more than Ashford. I am not bashing the guy just being honest about what I saw. I am not the only one that has mentioned it. It was mentioned in the game by announcers this year. I don't remember which game but I remember hearing it.

When they got emotional, they elevated their level of play. When Robbie gets emotional, he implodes and ruins any chance of winning the game.

BIG DIFFERENCE

I believe Zac has the new moniker, that he mentioned to Hank when he called into the program "baby goat", Hank laughed and said go ahead and use it.

One of the callers to one of the programs, he seems quite close to some of the players on the team and he said, some of the players have said privately, if we had any line whatsoever last year Hunter would have started. Said his accuracy is far better than the others. Heck even Harsin said that in one of his pressers.

With our new and improved, let me rephrase "with" an actual OL for the spring, Holden will walk away with this job.

Its not just his accuracy, he runs his progressions, thats key as in progressionsssssss, not the first read then run. Then quickly releases the ball. And boy does the kid have a quick release, none of this wind up pull it from behind the ankle throw, its fricking out of his hand in a flash.

And we have the receivers, but who the heck is gonna put in 100% when there is little chance you will be thrown to, and even less it will actually reach you.

Im excited, Holden or bus!!!

I saw another interview and leadership was number 2 and he said it "in regards" to the program overall.

I think this stems from his comment about knowing where to park which I found really odd regarding leadership.

But apparently one of our players was using one of those carts around campus and parked in a handicap parking spot. Now I understand what he means by leadership. What fricking idiot who is on an athletic scholarship is parking a cart in a handicap spot??
