With this year’s recruiting class? What say you more learned folks?

Championship type depth. Light on OL, but it is setting us up for a nice run.

great class. looking at the complete roster, we are still light on OL depth. Next year it needs to be a big priority and sign 5 or 6.

CPA nailed it, really.

OL looks rough. Another great WR class. QB is great.

I thought DL rounded out well in the end. Newkirk, Coynis Miller, Odele, and Johnson is pretty legit.

LB looks solid with Jibunor, McClain, and Harris.

I think Asa, Joiner, and Shivers at RB is solid

This is one of the deeper classes we’ve had

Good class. Really like the LBs. Need a big OT and CB class next year. Hopefully a beast DT, Derrick Brown type.

Just like the 2017 season: started out bad, got really good, and ended with a dud.

Solid overall. Not many in this class that I would call "reaches" & some guys with some real high ceilings (Gatewood, Miller, Jibunor)

We missed bad at OT & that's not a great place to miss. Hate that we only ended up with 2 top 100 players. Also lost every recruiting battle with UGA

Positive side is we absolutely needed early impact players at safety & got 2 guys in Monday & Sherwood who can help. Also we are year ahead in having DL ready for the mass exodus after 2018 season. Lots of offensive weapons

Despite it's lower rating, this is one of my favorite classes under Gus. Like it more than last year's honestly. Just a lot of guy that I think will develop into contributors

2019 tho needs to be a huge year especially OL recruiting & CB. Off to a good start with Nix & Pickens. Also we need to show we can win a battle or 2 with Kirby

I think the historic success UGA has had this year is overshadowing our class. We're still going to compete at a high level.

Auburn's biggest problem on Saturday's is usually Auburn not the opponent so I agree

Class is right on par with what Gus typically signs. Right around the top 10ish.

We shite the bed badly on OTs but sign 5-6 Oline next season and we'll be ok. I wish we had grabbed another plugger DT this class.

WE do not have one good every down back. Must less any depth at that position

Wut? We have several every down backs. Barrett, Whitlow, and both Martin's.

What size RB would you consider to be an every down back?

I've mentioned some of this before but....

1. whiffed on OL. Must crush it there in '19 class. Period. #1 need.

2. This is a depth class. Tons of blue chip guys (4*) but not much sizzle in the top 100/50. Will help so that we don't see significant dropoffs in talent from starters to backups and should help on ST.

3. With sixteen 4* guys, you can assume 2-3 will be better than their 4* ranking and play like a 5* that is All SEC caliber. Then, we'll probably have roughly half of them that never do much or contribute. That leaves 4-6 four star guys that will probably be starter level players at some point for Auburn.

4. We got a fantastic punter that should help immediately.

5. Out of the 3* guys, most won't contribute but 1-2 will end up really good. So between what I said in #3 and these 3* guys, we'll probably see 10 guys out of this class that are starter level contributors. That's a really, really good class.

Honestly, it wasn't a huge year for great DTs. That's why Coynis Miller was a can't miss recruit for this cycle.

The good news is we really have started using a 3 man line with the Buck being a guy that can sometimes make it a 4 man front or show a 3-4 look. So a lot of the DL pieces are interchangeable. That's why we are recruiting so many guys that are kind of DE/DT blends. I think Newkirk, Miller & Oladele could all end up as DTs. Interested to watch Johnson's growth as well

Miller tho was definitely a can't miss. We need a DUDE in the interior (Derrick Brown/Montravius Adams) & Miller has that type of upside. Hoping we can hit on a 5* calibre DT in 2019 as well
