Man, Florida has everything. That and the landscaping are two of the things that drew me here.

Hell man I dont even own warm clothing now.

Beautiful morning a few days ago when it was in the upper 50s. I was out in shorts & flops that morning.

I own some warm clothes but never wear them. I only wear flops here now. I kind of miss the cool weather...not the freaking cold but 40s - 70s.

When we lived in San Diego is was average of 72 which was nice. Monterey was cold to me because of all the fog & general dampness. Kids spent a 4th in winter jackets watching the fog light up with fireworks.

Hope you have a great fishing trip!

We get coyotes like crazy.

Yea, we always had them in Georgia. Ive killed about 50 of them on our hunting land in Georgia over the years.

Our neighborhood is in the country, as much as you can in Sarasota, and there are huge pastures near us with plenty of cattle. The coyotes get out there early and late and howl. I can hear them when Im sitting on my lanai drinking coffee early or spirits late. Love listening to them.

Funny hearing our northern transplants worry about them on our facebook group. You can really tell a lot about people on how they post on a public group page.

I killed plenty of coyotes going after livestock on the farm. Then my dad bought donkeys for all the pastures, and I’ve rarely seen one in years now.

Yea, pretty much the same for me. Since I dont have a real job, I just dont need any decent clothes. I mostly wear flip flops but I do have some tennis shoes for working out and walking. Also have some rubber boots I wear on the boat sometimes.

I have a very simple wardrobe for sure

What type of bass you building?

I found I can source bass bodies and necks really cheap that are very high quality and then put top quality components on them and I end up with a bass that I am all in maybe $450-$500 that is as good as any $1,500-$2,000 bass around. At least close to that good. I am building a passive Precision and Jazz bass. I have two active Jazz basses and two PJ basses but I did not have simple passive Precision and Jazz basses so since my first build out turned out so good I am of course doing two more.

Always cool to play or use something you build.

I have built a few pieces of furniture over the years with no so fancy tools but was extremely satisfied with the builds.

Congrats post some pics...

We have seen a couple running down our street heading to a preserve at the end of the road. Ton of rabbits down there. I have a bunny that is in my yard a ton.

yeah they are notorious for taking care of business. My grandfather had a few on his farm to protect livestock & plow..

Every so often the wife and I get together with this regular group that goes hiking into the mountains/rainforest here. Beautiful rivers (more like big creeks in the states) waterfalls.

On one of the trips I was behind the guy who organizes, he got to the top of the hill and yells out to those behind us, walk over here dont take the same path up, and said so in a very demanding voice. He looked at me and said did you see it. I just said motherfker. Quietly lounging to our left as we passed was one of these bad boys....

The guide said, this is one of the most beautiful hikes in the country.......but there is a reason they call it the Bushmaster trail

But its the little stuff you dont even think about that will get you

I got severe flu, and just lingering pain in the joints. Heck I exercise and I was afraid to attempt a pushup for fear I would have the wrist pain and face plant myself.

I went to our doctor to get a couple of stitches taken out and he said, so Trini what else ails you. I said you know I guess Im just getting old, arthritis just suddenly hit me about a month ago. Its not as bad now.

He said was there any symptoms when this started. I related to him I had the flu and then the joint pain just wouldnt go away. He started to howl, damn Americans think you need 18 specialists to figure out whats wrong. Son this is what you got from a mosquito......

Fine now but Ill never complain when old people talk about their joints

Can't imagine why anyone would be ON the lake this time of year.

Oct through Feb is the greatest time of the year to be a fisherman. Between football, hunting, and the cold, 95% of the people are gone. No one poaching your spot. No jet skis zipping around you or clueless pontoon boat almost hitting you. And down here in Alabama, the colder, nastier, and shittier the weather gets, the better these mean old Coosa spots bite. One year on Lay Lake, it was snowing and sleeting and we smashed em on spooks on the shallow ledges.

It can’t get cold enough. Bring on some sleet and ice and crushing barometric pressure!!!!!

I opened a business inspecting houses for insurance companies. Inspected a house in Bradenton new property, vacant land all around. New owner. Did the outside work and came back to the southeast corner where the driveway was located. Cool evening, warming morning. Surprise, six foot rattlesnake. Missed the tail, got to the head…thought damn….dealing with a pit viper. Back to the tail….rattles. Owner arrives.

“What’s that?”
“Your pet rattlesnake, comes with the house”
“Kill him”.
“Your pet snake”
“You have a pole”
“Aluminum, if I hit him, break the pole and tick off the snake.”

Then informed him. “Along the pool cage, 10 foot gator scooping out your
Yorkies, welcome to Florida.”

Still getting ready for my hip replacement early next year. My right hip has completely collapsed. Trying to cook Christmas dinner while hobbling along on a walker kind of sucks. My commie atheist uncle who is also a bammer has decided to stay home as his girlfriend has no bladder control and can't travel very well. My fiance has to work on Christmas Eve. I cheered him up by giving him his Christmas gift early, a new shotgun. I hope all members of the Auburn family are doing well and enjoying the holiday season. WDE

Hate to hear that. My dad had a bad car wreck back 30 years ago and crushed his hip. It took a long time before he was ready to get the replacement but once he did, it really helped. He has never really been the same but improved. hang in there .

Going to be somewhat a lonely Christmas for us. Wife is working and we are staying home so just me and my son other than a couple hours per day when she wakes up then heads to work. I think we will take the boat out some of the days and spend the time doing what we love.

I'm still in Georgia, and I'm no longer tough. Once upon a time, I thought nothing of 10 to 15 degree weather. Now, I complain if it drops under 50 degrees, very loudly under 40.

Will be first Christmas without my oldest son. He could not get leave from the Army. I’m sad, but it is what it is. I know my wife will be a mess Christmas Day.

Thank you. My dad had his hip replaced 30 years ago. He was lucky enough to get Dr. Andrews who did a lot of surgeries for Auburn athletes back in the day. The sports medicine hospital he was in was really nice. So far the implant has held up very well.
I hope your fishing is a huge success. Have a great Christmas!
